We're just about 3 months away from our 1st ever cruise -- Feb 12th for 3 nights. We just told our 4 kids and they are already starting with detailed questions -- which I can't answer. Here are my first few.

:sunny: Our two oldest will be 14 and 12 -- which means different kids activities. Is there any chance my son (12) will be able to hang out with his older sister in the teen club?

:earsboy: What kind of weather should be expect and prepare for in early Feb? I guess a sweater for night if we're going to be outside but the big question from the kids is will we be able to swim?

::MickeyMo Shore excurions -- are they worth it and if so, which ONE would you pick?

 Are there things like shows or events on the ship that "sell out" so that you really need to get there early (other than Palo or Spa ressies)?

:jester: Any recommendations as for the first thing we should all do when we get on board (after we make ressies for Palo and Spa)?

Thanks much.

The first thing you should do when you get on the ship is EAT!!!!!!
Find your way up to Beach Blanket Buffet and try to eat your way through the buffet.
They might let the two kids 14 and 12 hang out together but don't count on it.
Beginning of February can be anything from nice and warm to quite chilly. Usually you can swim though. Hey I just thought about it, we are going on the Jan29-Feb 1 3 day Wonder, so we will be a bit ahead of you.
A lot of people don't get off the ship in Nassau, I personally kind of agree with them. It is your first cruise, staying on the ship and exploring and enjoying would probably be just as much fun.
The shows never sell out, there should be be enough seats available for everyone to see them.
I hope these answers help you.

I'm not too optimistic about Disney letting the 12 year in but I'm hopeful. Our daughter -- the 14 year old is a little shy and probably won't do it herself -- she won't admit it but she does like having her brother around sometimes.

You know -- skipping Nassau was my first thought too -- just wasn't ready to suggest it to the family. I was thinking that maybe we would just do a few hours then get back on the ship. I'll do some more searching for others thoughts on this too.

Sure does help -- thanks much.

Just make sure that your daughter goes to the 411 meeting on the first night in Common Grounds, the teen room. That is when the teens get together officially for the first time. They get to know each other and start to become friends at this time. She will probably find someone that she will connect with at this time. Everytime we have gone there have been several hundred teenagers in that 13-17 age group so there should be someone she can relate to.
In regards to Nassau, getting off the ship and walking around the town for awhile is a good idea too, because then you can judge for yourself what it is like there and your children can also see what life is like there.
