CHICAGO (MarketWatch) -- Walt Disney Co. is seeking a buyer for its Miramax film unit, best known for such films as "Pulp Fiction," "Shakespeare In Love" and "Chicago," according to published reports.
Disney has found as many as 10 potential bidders, the New York Times reported late Sunday, citing an unnamed person familiar with the situation. One such interested party is the studio responsible for two "Twilight" vampire romance films, Summit Entertainment, the Times said.
Talks to sell Miramax have picked up since progress was made in the potential sale of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's film library, the largest collection of post-1948 films available, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday.
A Disney spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment Monday.
