Minor MSEP Heads Up...

Just got back from our trip. Yes, we watched the MSEP and it was fine... except for one thing... the music. It's a short little piece that repeats over and over until the ending piece with the final float. At first, we were thinking it would make a fine little ring-tone. By the 100th time, it was like "Please make it stop!" (No I didn't count but it sure felt like at least 100 - makes me wonder if anyone has ever counted how many times it repeats over the course of the entire parade.) It it just me that wishes they'd change up the music a bit as the parade progresses?

There is nothing I hate more at WDW than the music of the MSEP. It haunts my dreams. I can never escape it.

Found it nerve grating since I first saw 30-ish years ago. I think it's one reason I loved Spectromagic so much, it had amazing music. Grating vs Goosebumps.

Yes!!!! This is an ongoing joke in our house. The same 10 second jingle over and over......and over......and over. About 10 minutes in everyone had enough and we left. I miss spectromagic.

The Spectromagic music was, to me, both repetitive and beyond annoying. The MSEP is my favorite music ever...makes me smile anywhere/anytime. Long live Baroque Hoedown!

I just googled Disney ringtones and found a ton of free ones. I have MSEP and Circle of Life as ringtones on my phone.

I bought mine from itunes- it's the video game version of Fantasmic's exit theme. I love it.

That looping ditty is just the backing track, and is (or used to be) piped thru the stationary speakers in the buildings. Have you not noticed that each float has (or is supposed to have) its own melody that plays in synch with the backing track?

Have they stopped doing this? Admittedly, I haven't seen MSEP in a long time...

we miss SPECTROMAGIC!!!! the MSEP is very "retro" . I personally hate the 80s theme. (actually hated all the pop genre that decade had to offer.. lol) I despise the Michael Jackson 3D movie, also.. . sigh.....
(in case anyone is wondering.... yes I hate that the "flower power" concerts have morphed into "garden rocks" . and gone are my 60s and 70s bands. now we have 80's bands.. ACK!!!!!!)

MSEP premiered at Disneyland in 1972, so the music dates back to then. The parade is iconic and the music adds so much of its character. Listening to it over and over is part of the experience!

ok,.so I was wrong with the dates. there are obviously 2 camps here. and unfortunately, I dont' think those of us in the "spectro" camp. will herAR our pretty music again. only the robotic "music". sigh lol (I still miss the cheerful, lilting music of spectro!!!! )

I hated when it first came out, because I loved Spectromagic. But now it has grown on me.
