Minnie's Holiday Dine at Hollywood & Vine

I am stalking this thread everyday. The DH and DS want to go to this meal. First time we'll be in WDW for the Christmas theme. Can't wait. Fingers crossed we all get the ressie we want.

New to DisBoards (as of today!) but wanted to report that the WDW Dining CM I spoke with 15 minutes ago had no information or suggestions other than "keep trying". :/ So hang in there everyone!

We're looking at this too. My question is... Is Hollywood and Vine really that bad at dinnertime? We've been to breakfast and loved it but the dinner reviews are underwhelming. I'm wondering if this will be a good use of credits if we're seeing the characters elsewhere?

I'm wondering that, too. Was it worth it for the people who did the Star Wars dinner?

I just got off the phone with a very helpful CM. She told me that they have no information on when it will be available for booking. However, she did say that it usually shows up in their system a day before it is actually available, letting them know the time it will open for booking. She said that, depending on the CM, they will tell you that information if you ask for it.

We did the Star Wars dinner there last year. I had heard the food was not good, but I was pleasantly surprised. We all liked it.

The SWW meal was some of the best WDW buffet food we've had. But it was also a specialized menu for the event. I've not dined there for "regular" dinner, so can't comment on that.

Also, I think any time you can knock out 3-4 characters in an hour without waiting in line its always worth it :)

Agreed! I'd eat almost anything/anywhere if it meant less time in meet & greet lines! Especially @ MVMCP! And the F! option is a bonus! SO happy I found this thread and all you fantastic people!!! :D

The food may or may not be that great and that is always so subjective for everybody. However IMO, with this sort of event, the reservation is more about the EXPERIENCE and the ATMOSPHERE if you will, than it is about the quality of the food. I'm expecting the EXPERIENCE to be a big hit for all of us and hopefully we'll be pleasantly surpised with the food quality too!!!

Now if we could just get the darned thing booked already.......

We did FDP at H&V a couple times several years ago and the food wasn't very good, BUT reviews in the last year or so have improved dramatically. I have wondered if the restaurant got a new head chef. Anyway, I am hopeful it will be fine. :)

We have done lunch there...last year and the Star Wars dinner this past June and we loved it...food was great, especially the desserts. The desserts were star wars themed and very yummy.

We did the star wars dinner in May and I swore I would never go back. I did not enjoy it at all. And I'm not a foodie, I'm usually happy to eat anywhere. There just wasn't much that I liked. So I probably won't book the Minnie dinner if it comes out, but I really want a Mama Melrose F! dinner, so I'm stalking this thread, hoping that when the H&V dinner gets released, some MM will be dropped. ;)

I just missed the boat yesterday on room discounts (staying at POR so nearly impossible anyways) I AM NOT missing the boat on this dinner!! im stalking this and the Disney site daily.

on a side note- we generally do the H&V dinner buffet with the F! seating. I know people complain about the food- but I haven't found any issues with it....I mean its a buffet, not fine dining. but I felt it was good enough

Everytime I checked on the room discount yesterday all I got was that the agents were slammed and to check later and it better not happen with this. I would love to do this. Now, if my sister and cousin want to also. Hmmm, anyone have room for 1 more if they don’t want to do this with me? :thumbsup2

I called today for a different reason (room accessibility) and while chatting with the very helpful CM, he asked if he could do anything else for me. I explained that I was waiting for this meal to open up.

He paused then carefully stated that, historically, he couldn't tell me exactly when it would open. However, based on historical scheduling information, it should be *soon.* His phrasing was Very intentional and careful, which I found somewhat funny. So... soon. :) Hopefully very soon.

Oh for crying out loud! I'm getting tired of "soon."

I was telling my DH last night that either a) they are trying to be as helpful as they can because they have to answer the phone anyway or b) they are getting some sick satisfaction out of messing with us because they have to answer the phone anyway. LOL.

Ditto. We've been hearing 'soon' for what, a week now. This is getting ridiculous. They keep releasing things after the 180 date negating our on-site advantage. I'm kind of relieved to be doing US in 2016. I need a break from vacation planning :/

So - I just read somewhere else that the premium booking events for epcot's food and wine open on July 30th... what are the chances it all opens at once? :rolleyes2 Here's to hoping. I have several other plans riding on this one reservation!
