Is there a best time to do Minnie’s Breakfast….i.e. first thing or last thing or some time in the middle? I am planning to make PSs for our last morning there (DD although excited about going to DL is a bit scared of characters in real life so want her to have some days to adjust to them so she’ll hopefully be fine with them for the breakfast)….The park opens at 8.00 on the Saturday and I’m pretty sure I read Minnie’s ends at 11.00 so I was thinking of trying to book for 9.30? Just wasn’t sure if:
1. Do they let you book for a time you want or do they just give you the first time available?
2. Are there always a good mix of characters around or do they tend to fizzle out by the end? Is it a mad rush at first opening or is it worse at another time?
3. How long do they allow you to stay (not that we would go in and sit there for hours but not sure if they rush you out really quick either).
4. I know it’s the luck of the draw on who you get to see but DD’s favs would be Pooh, Tigger etc, Minnie, Mickey, Donald so if they do happen to be there is there a ‘usual’ time they are vs not?
5. If DD happens to adapt to the characters right away and we want to do a breakfast at Minnie’s on a day sooner than our PSs or a character meal at Ariels, Goofy’s or Chip Dales is it possible to either just walk up and hopefully get in or make PSs on the same day?
6. If you have PSs for a certain time (say 9.30) how early should you arrive?

If anybody can offer some help on how it all works….. MANY THANKS!

1. Unless they are mostly booked up, you pick a time and they'll tell you if it's available. If they're heavily booked, they'll suggest an available time.

2. Late breakfast seating: We chose to go to one of the last seating times in order to maximize our early morning time, and to skip out on a lunch. There were lots of characters around, no worries there! The characters did not seem to follow a route through the room, so our table was missed by several. We stayed seated figuring we'd catch them on their way back, or on a 2nd run, but Eeyore (one of DS3's favorites) came through twice and never stopped. After we left our table I saw Eeyore outside, so we waited to see him (which was suggested by one CM, then she got in trouble for it by another CM. )

3. We did not feel rushed, other than that it seemed loud and less organized than some of the other character meals. We were there maybe an hour? Though I think at GK we have stayed as long as 1.5 hours to have dessert and make sure we saw each character.

4. We also were hoping for Pooh characters, and got lucky on our breakfast. We saw Pooh, Eeyore and Tigger, as well as several other characters. I don't know if there's a way to ensure you see Pooh characters, if they have certain characters on certain days, or if it can change within a day depending on who's scheduled to work and which characters they play. :confused3

5. I'd recommend making a PS as soon as this becomes likely. Or better yet, make a PS now, you can always cancel it if she doesn't want to go.

6. We always try to arrive around 15 minutes early, though it might be better to be even earlier for GK, which gets very long lines to check in. The others weren't as long for check-in and seating, but the GK dinner we arrived at 4:45 for a 5:00 PS (first seating for dinner), and weren't seated until around 5:30 - 5:45. I've heard that's fairly typical.

We always do the 10:30 seating. That gives us lots of early ride time in AND it doubles as our lunch. We do always eat a small muffin or bar in the room or while waiting for rope drop. We're from Texas and with the time difference our tummies are still on Central time! Have a great trip!!!

Thanks very much....I know I had ALOT of questions! Will try for about 10.00 I think.

I also agree to try for a later seating. We like to do the last seating available. That way we can do rides and such early in the day, and then take a break. We normally will eat a quick granola bar or something like that before we head to the park, so by 1030 or so, we are ready to eat. Plus, it seems less crowded too.

We did Minnie's last month and had an absolutely fabulous time! We chose to go on an EE day and made our PS at 9:30. Park opened for EE at 9 and for the general public at 10am. An employee from Minnie's came out and found us about 10-15 minutes before our PS time. We had one of the earliest PS times and thought it was perfect. We were one of the first families in and there were no wait times to get food, no lines and everything was really fresh. We saw lots of characters and got a lot of time with each of them. Here are the ones I can remember:

Mickey
Minnie
Captain Hook
Winnie the Pooh
Chip and Dale
Tigger

We had a 1 year old who was not as tolerant with time as our 4 year old so we didn't get to stay as long as we would have liked. I'm sure we would have seen a lot more characters had we been able to stay longer. I would also like to mention that we had outstanding service! We could not have been happier with our experience, not one complaint.

Note: Mickey Mouse does not appear at any character meals at the Disneyland Resort. He does make appearances frequently at the Happiest Birthdays on Earth parties at the Plaza Inn, but that's not technically a character meal either.

Thanks very much....I know I had ALOT of questions! Will try for about 10.00 I think.

I also enjoy an early am muffin & a late breakfast (fwiw). BUT....be advised that Sat. is a MM/EE day. If Gen. Adm. opening is 8am, MM/EE will be 7am.

We've never seen Mickey at a character meal but he is easily accessible at his house right after TTMM

As part of our package we only get one EE day so in figuring that Saturday would most likely be busier than Thursday we've decided to do our EE on Thursday to take advantage of any rides we can coax DD on and on Friday do TTMM and save Saturday for most of our leisure activities like breakfast and stroll around, shopping and just not worry about dealing with long waits for rides.....hopefully I'm planning right:confused3

Characters you may see at Minnie and Friends include Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale, Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger and many others. There will also be a villain at this meal. Most times we see Captain Hook, but Foulfellow was there on our last visit. You will not ever see Mickey Mouse here, so please don't expect that when going to the Plaza Inn for breakfast.

Not my website, and while it hasn't been updated in quite a while (most update dates are from September 2007), most of the information is still correct. With the exception of Goofy and Pluto being regulars at Minnie's. Everything subject to change without notice, yadda yadda, that kind of stuff.
