Minnie Van Service from MCO starting 08/11 - Questions

Well that is a total bummer. I hadn't seen any lists, thanks for letting me know.

The few blogs I see around seem to be copying the same jibber jabber, so who knows.

But FWIW, when Disney first rolled out the airport service in early 2018 it started with a limited set of deluxe resorts, they then later added additional resorts in chunks at various points, I think it was by August or so all resorts were finally added. So there is precedent for a staggered roll out, again, for whatever that is worth.

The CL only service has been in place for a bit now (December 2022) and I’m frankly surprised it’s taken so long to expand (assuming the info is correct).

Interesting. Want to learn more. Tiffany towncars grabs my attention too - didn't know about them until this thread. That said, I almost always come back to wanting my own car and being willing to pay the couple hundred dollar premium for that. Just so tough with two kids who both need booster seats.

The basic process for tiffany

60 days out or less -You fill out the form online - if you have 4 use the minivan (not the van that is for 8-10) and the form asks for flights and how many car seats ( you an tell them what type in comments) and if you need a Publix stop. For pickup you tell them the flight time on the form ( they will add the hours)

They hold a spot, I call them a week before and add a tip ( or you can cash tip the driver) they charge the roundtrip + tip when they pick you up from MCO so your card is not charged weeks ahead of time.

They check your flight and adjust for delays so you have no worries. Once you get off the plane the driver will have texted you and asked you to reply once you have your bags from baggage claim. Then the driver meets you and helps with bags.

I like the help when I have my elderly parents with me so I am not jockying 3 bags. I imagine it would be just as helpful with 2 kids. they park right below baggage claim so it is a short walk to the car.

They text you the day before you leave with the pickup time.

I have also used them to pick up family without me when my sisters fly into Sanford airport. Just give them your guests phone instead of yours.

Thank you! That is fantastic info. I am tempted to use them for our next trip. If I can get comfortable with the idea of not having a car in the parking lot (that I probably won't use), might just save me some money.

I had 2 years of unused rental cars before I switched. I use them for WDW - universal transfers as well if it not just me ( then I Lyft)

We actually have used the Mears Private car service 3 times now (about $90 each way) and really liked the service, great communication and had 0 issues. IMO the Minnie Van for us is only worth it if trying to get to MK given their priority access vs the TTC. But it’s nice to see options and great for those who need it and want to use it.

I have only ever used the Minnie van service once. It was last January during a 7 days trip. We were at MK after the fireworks, taking advantage of extended hours. And the temperature was like 35F. My mother was slowly transforming into an ice statue.

Everybody was cold and dead tired, transferring to TTC to take a normal Uber/Lyft felt hugely inconvenient at 11:20PM in 35F temperatures, as was waiting 20 min for the AKL bus.

The perk of getting picked up right at the exit, then dropped off at the door of our resort, felt like the luxury was 100% worth its price tag that time.

For more normal or less extreme circumstances, for HS, Epcot and AKL the normal uber/lyft pickup area is right next to the buses, so I unless you absolutely need car seats for young kids, it's a huge premium for no gain.

From MCO to WDW, Magical Orlando Rides is my go to! They provide exceptional service for a $130 transfer to WDW for up to 6 people. They always pick us up right at baggage claim and the drivers are super friendly. For $200 I'd expect a pick-up at baggage claim and a complimentary mocha frappe as we enter the vehicle.
