Okay, so less than a month to go and I never got around to doing a Planning Journal. But I thought maybe you guys would like to see some pictures from my Minnie themed bridal shower last weekend. This will be good practice for my future wedding TR so here goes. Wish me luck!
My shower was thrown by my DF's sister and mom. They were so kind to offer to throw me a shower. I didn't think I would have a shower, being that my 4 BMs live in 3 different states. Gab, my future SIL, offered to throw the shower at her home Seattle which worked out well because my parents and 2 of the BMs live in the Seattle area. And it's only about a 3 hour drive from where DF and I live in Portland. So we packed up the car and headed up there for the weekend.
Before I get into the shower I have to explain some things about my SIL. She is absolutely the most organized/detail oriented person I have ever met. Her wedding last May was absolutely amazing. She is creative and driven, which works out really well for party planning (and she happens to be a prosecutor...I would not want to go up against her...). I knew she was going to come up with a great shower. And I was not dissapointed.
My mother and I arrived at the shower to find my friends had already arrived. They had a headband with Minnie Ears and a veil all ready for me. I happily put it on. I actually like this much better than the bridal ears in the park. Apparently SIL bought the ears and glued the veil on herself. I am going to wear it around the parks while we are at Disney. Here is a pic of me wearing them with my new toliet brush...which I am VERY excited about (no more carrying the brush inbetween bathrooms!).
Next up we had a great meal complete with hummus and feta (yum!), brocoli salad, chicken skewers with peanut sauce and Sangria. It was absolutely fantastic!
Next up we played a game and I opened some gifts. I had sent SIL the link to this board so she could do some research for her trip (first time to the World). She had read about how you can send Mickey and Minnie a wedding invite and get a response. She sent Minnie a Bridal Shower invite and she got me an autographed pic of JUST Minnie. It is so cute (I was pretty excited)!
She had also done some research and found this sign. For those, like me, who do not read Hebrew is says 'Mazel Tov'. How great is this??? It has Mickey and Minnie on it!
After some more games and presents it was time for cake. SIL suprised me with a cake from Cold Stone. I love, love, love Birthday Cake Remix. She contacted my DF and he told her she had to get me the Birthday Cake Remix Cake. Let me tell you, cake batter ice cream AND cake is wonderful! Here is SIL carrying the cake. She found a dress just like the Minnie dress on the shower invites! I told you, she is big into details...I thought it was so cute!
We also had cookies.
People always post pictures of the food they have at DW and I drool over it. Well, here you go!
And the big surprise of the day...SIL and MIL presented me with a book of wisdom. They had my friends and family that couldn't come to the shower send their words of advice on marriage. It is really neat!
So that is about it. I wanted to post the great pictures and possibly inspire some BMs out there with shower ideas. I could not have asked for a better shower. It was amazing!
