We took our boys (then 5 yrs, 3.5 yrs, and 5 months) to Goofy's Kitchen 2 years ago and loved it :-) The boys were a bit shy with the characters but loved seeing them all come by the table and took pictures with them. We also loved the huge variety of food for our very picky eaters...they feasted on chicken strips and fries at 8:30 in the morning :rotfl2: The only inconvenience was location. We always stay at the Hojo and ended up having to drive to the DLH for breakfast, park there during breakfast, and then DH drove back to Hojo to repark and walked back to DLR to meet up with us (I walked with the 3 boys through DTD to DLR).

Because of the inconvenience of the location of Goofy's Kitchen, we are considering trying a different character breakfast during our visit in November. It seems Minnie and Friends might make more sense as far as location goes as it is in DLR. How does Minnie and Friends compare FOOD WISE to Goofy's? Is there as much variety? Like I mentioned, my boys are picky so I need the chicken strips, fries, mac n cheese, etc. they have at Goofy's since they don't like most traditional breakfast foods (except cereal but I hate to pay so much $$ for them to just eat cereal ;) ). Also, what characters are typically there? We'd love to see Mickey but I understand he is at the breakfast at Paradise Pier Hotel?

Thanks in advance for any tips or advice!

Minnie and Friends is, I think, breakfast only. I don't remember seeing mac n cheese or chicken strips.

Mickey is at PPH for the Surfs Up breakfast and it is also very fun.

Minnies is the best in my HO i love it and you can see 10 chrs and its cheaper than goffys

Yes m&f is breakfast only. The characters we had were Minnie, Rabbit, Captain Hook, Chip and Dale, Eyeore, Fairy Godmother, Max, and Rafiki. We have done Goofy 's as well and in our experience the interaction was much better at Minnie 's. We unfortunately made the mistake of booking the last reservation slot of the day at Minnie's, and they closed the buffet shortly after our first trip up. The characters were extremely silly there. Minnie danced with my daughter. Captain Hook was stealing and rearranging trays, and Rafiki played with my DS bopping him with his balloon. All the characters made multiple visits to the table. At Goofy 's it was more meet and greet and move on.

There are always mixed reviews of the food quality at both places, but the two common opinions seem to be that (1) Minnie & Friends tends to have more characters, and (2) Goofy's has a much bigger selection of food.

So if it is the sheer variety of food that is a big hit at Goofy's (and I know how big the buffet is at Goofy's, so I am keeping that in mind), I think it's fair to say you will not get that same variety at Minnie & Friends. Goofy's has more food choices; Minnie's has more characters.

Minnie and Friends is breakfast only. We love it! It's our ritual that every first full day we visit, we eat there for breakfast. The food is great, and we see a TON of characters!

That's a great way of putting it! Since I'm already paying an exorbitant amount on the entrance I rather have more food choices!

Minnies is awesome. The food is plenty and The omlette chef is amazing... Of course you could get a diffrent one... However the food at minnies has always been a highlight. Characters are awesome...

Since you said that your boys are not that much into regular breakfast food, you might consider skip Minnie's Breakfast. The food selection at Goofy's Kitchen can't be compared to any other Character Meal in my opinion. The selection is so big!

But as other said, characters at Minnie's are amazing. There are a lot of different characters (we saw 9) and they really take their time with you, no matter who sits at the table (we're adults only).

If you don't want breakfast food why not do Goofy's for dinner? You could take the monorail from the park over to DLH and then back to the park, so that would avoid the longer walk in the morning.

We didn't care for Goofy's but we love Minnie's. I don't really care much about the food one way or another as we are going for the character experience, but it's ok at both places. Goofy has a slight edge for me speaking strictly on food. But the atmosphere wasn't as nice and the character interaction (which is the whole reason we go) was pretty poor, in our limited experience.

We walked from HoJos to Goofy's for breakfast when we went. We just allowed extra time and wandered through DD looking at windows and people watching. It took about 20 minutes.

I agree that going to Goofys for dinner might be a better option if you have picky eaters. Minnie's is breakfast only, but my DD does better at breakfast than dinner so we almost always do character breakfasts.
