Minivan rental discount questions?

Hi,
I've been pricing minivan rentals...ouch! The best that I found so far was Enterprise. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to find discount codes? or any ways to get them cheaper? I'd try other places if I had a code to get it cheaper. Thank you so much!

If you got o Mousesavers.com they have a list of codes for rental car places. However, I have been looking for June 26-July 7 and everything is very high. My understanding, by reading these boards, that the rental places prices fluctuate quite a bit, so you need to check back often for better rates. I have been doing that every day for the last 3 days. Haven't found anything I like yet. Hoping for at least under $300. That may be wishful thinking.

Thanks for all of your help! I really appreciate it. We are planning on leaving PA June 8 and returning somewhere around the 17th-19th. It is partially depending on the price of the minvan rental. We are also still adding up all of our expenses (hotel, food, etc) to see how many days we can afford to be in Florida. 4158/week is incredible. Hertz wanted over $1000. I think Enterprise was around the $600 mark.

Two ways, either go to www.floridakiss.com and click Dollar's link, or from Dollar's homepage click the "specials" tab and you'll find a box to enter promo codes. HTH

I really like Dollar's rates, BUT is there any way to get around the additional driver charge? I don't have to pay for the additional driver (spouse) with my National or Avis memberships.

Wow! Some great rates are being posted here. The lowest rate I am getting for a minivan 8/4-12 is $365 using Kiss2 and the new code on MS website! I have to hope the rates will come down before August. Congrats!

No, I must be a dope. When I try it with the code, it tells me that it isn't available. But if I try it without the code, all of a sudden there's a minivan available! (boo!) And that rate is 322.27/week. I am going to keep playing around with it.

I keep on getting the same message. I'm beginning to think that my date--April 3-15 is blacked out. The rates are really high using every code that I can find on every company!

Actually I'm a SAHM and I don't get out much so I don't mind driving. Plus DH's driving makes me go bonkers , so I'll be sane if I drive. But then I can't drink a lot, but with a newborn I can't drink lots anyways so it's all good. Hmmm maybe since I'm driving he can get dirty diaper patrol, that sounds like a good bargain to me.

Yep!!! I was SOO excited. Now if only they release the free dining code I am convinced they are going to do, it will a great vacation. Well it will be a great vacation anyways, but even better with free food.

Hi,
I see my problem!!! The KISS2 code only works in Florida. That's why I can't get it to work. I need the minvan to drive from PA to FL. We have a sedan, which seats 5. My family of 4 will be a group of 6 driving to FL, so we need to rent a minivan. I will keep checking the mousesavers website. Perhaps Dollar will release another code that will apply to my travel dates. Thanks for all of the help!! I really appreciate it.

You intrigue me, FENFUR....why are you convinced that they will release the free dining code? And when are your travel dates? Boy, would I LOVE free food for June!! But I think that's asking too much.

Well about 75% of it is hopeful positive thinking that they will announce another year of free dining, but the other 25% says that they have done it for the past two years and have already offered it to UK residents, so things look pretty good.

I think chances of them offering that in June are slim to none, sorry.

Oh and we are going September 4-18, dead smack in the middle of hurricane season, lol. But since we are going there to relax and such, a day or so stuck in our room does not frighten us.

Good luck finding a good code from PA.

Oh well. You are probably right. I will be lucky to find a code for a minivan and even luckier if I can get a discounted room. This will be our first trip to Florida in the summer in over a decade. But, my daughter will be off to college this fall and my son will be a senior in high school. It is too difficult to travel during schooltime next year. Oh well. I am happy to be going to WDW at all. We thought for sure that our last trip (Dec 05) was going to be our last til the kids got out of college.
