Minivan capacity for 8 passengers?

Does anyone know if the Budget minivans can fit 6 adults, 2 kids? Do they ever give you the minivan with a bench for the middle row as opposed to captain's chairs? It says "Dodge Grand Caravan" which I think comes with captain's chairs.

Any other rental companies that have an 8 passenger minivan?

I saw the previous thread for Alamo but I couldn't find the car when I tried booking it.

With that many people in a van are you going to have enough room for luggage?

A Toyota Sienna is 8 passenger.

Yes I it is the only 8-passenger (including driver) minivan. All the others are 7 including the driver.

To the poster who asked where the put the luggage, the Sienna has a huge deep well in the back that seems bottomless...it holds a lot of big bags.

We also have been searching for a vehicle for 8 and have found that depending upon which rental company you are checking, a MUCH better deal for our size group can be found if you consider a Chevy Suburban (or similar)... The mpg isn't that much different either, believe it or not! just FYI

Thanks everyone - we went with the Sienna through Budget for approx $270 for 1 week. Fit 8 great (with 2 carseats), 2 large luggages, 3 small luggages, and a large Graco baby stroller. So we only had the luggage for a short time and it was tight with EVERYTHING, but at least we could get by with one car instead of 2. The trunk is very deep as PP said.

Thanks to the DIS boards, we got the Sienna. The rental car counter agent said "there are no 8 passenger mini-vans". I asked "What about the Sienna?" He said "nope, 7 people". I told him give me the Sienna anyways and we were pleasantly surprised to see 8 seats!

If you don't mind, how were you able to get the Sienna and not some other minivan? (They don't even list it on the website, only a Ford Freestar.)

That's all I see also. I called Budget last week and was told they only have 7 passenger mini vans. Maybe they really don't know. I was told that I could call back about a week before my rental pick up and they would be able to give me a better idea what was available, but that I couldn't request anything. We really would like that 8 passenger also if possible. We have 6 adults and one child. We will make it work no matter what, but would love the Sienna. If anyone has any secrets about getting one, please let us know.

We just asked for the Sienna at the counter. Not sure how many they had, but they didn't seem to have a problem giving us one.
