Minimum number of nights for a dining plan?

Can someone using an AP discount to book a room for one night add a dining plan and no tickets?
Can someone without the AP discount call to add the dining plan to a one-night reservation, with no tickets?
Can someone using DVC points for one night at a villa add the dining plan to their reservation, with no tickets?

The minimum number of nights for a regular room/dining package (with tickets or without) is one night.

Three night minimum is on free dining packages. Not regular packages.

If it isn't DVC: They'll change the room to a ticketless package, which means it's now a package, but since it's one night you would have had to pay for it in its entirety upon booking anyway.

DVC: There is no minimum. One night is fine. DVC never needs to purchase tickets in order to add a dining plan.
You can add it yourself if you are the member. If you're renting from a member or broker, you'll need to contact the member or broker to add the dining plan for you.

It has to be payed for prior to the trip. I believe it's 48 hours prior for DVC.

With DVC the plan must be paid for when it is added to the reservation (no matter when you add it) so if you're renting it needs to be coordinated with the member you're renting from or the broker you're using.

My Disney travel agent just tried unsuccessfully to book a one night room-only reservation with dining plan and was told there was a two-night minimum for people without an AP discount.

I was told the same thing when I booked for last year's W&D marathon, so this has apparently been the case for a while.
