I am a newbie, so forgive me if I sound stupid. We are planning a trip in early December (7-14). We are a family of 4 (children 8, 6) and my parents will be joining us. Someone on the resort board suggested renting points at BWV for our situation. Assuming that's even possible, here's the question. We will be there from the 7-14 (check out on 14). We need a studio. When my parents are there (8-13), we would like to have a 2 Bdrm (add a 1 bdrm). Because of the room set up, would it be possible to rent the Studio for Sat and Fri nights "adding" the 1 bdrm Sun-Thurs so that the rooms would be connecting. Or is there a minimum length of stay where I would have to rent the 2 bdrm for the whole week (yikes, Sat and Fri are much more expensive). Thanks for any help you can give me.

Generally the minimum stay at a DVC resort is considered to be one day, however they reserve the right to make it longer for certain seasonal times.

I think your bigger problem is going to be getting the two rooms to be connecting. While BWV does have "lock off" 2 bedrooms (a one bedroom and a studio with a connecting door), I'm not sure what difficulties you will have trying to "wedge" the one bedroom into the middle of your trip.

But, hey, it never hurts to ask :)

Good luck!

You can split the two room reservations. Many DVC members do this to save points on weekends.
Are you sure you are wanting a one bedroom or a two bedroom? If you want a two bedroom they may be able to put you in a lockoff studio for the time you request and then open the lock off for the two bedroom stay if it is available. I'm not sure of the room layouts, but I'm sure you could ask MS when you call to reserve.

It should be possible to do what you suggest. This would be a request, however, and you might have to physically move from the studio to a two-bedroom. You might want to see what the price direct from Disney would be....although, it's probably too soon for discounts. With the weekend stay you may not have as big savings renting from a member to justify giving up flexibility.

We have done exactly that on several occasions. DVC will reserve the studio for you for the entire time and add the 1BR for the Sun-Thurs dates. They will have to make sure the CM understands the request and link the reservations together, but it can easily be accomplished and you won't have to check-out of the studio. (You may have to pick up a new key on Sunday.)

In this case, you will have one more problem and that is since you're renting the reservation from someone else, you also have to make sure they understand what you want and are able to convey the same understanding to MS. You will also need to find someone with enough points to accomplish the entire reservation, as this would be even more difficult with more than one member trying to handle the details and link things together.

Good Luck!

Ok, now it sounds as though it CAN be done, it's just a matter of getting it done! Hopefully I will be lucky enough to find one person with enough points for me to rent and will understand my situation. I plan on saving Doc's response so that I can e-mail if I can find someone to rent from. Thanks again....this may just be an option that would work great for us (we really want to be near the Boardwalk)!

One more thing BWV's tend to be very busy the beginning of dec so you need to act fast to get points if you want to stay this year. We will be there the week after you for our first stay as members (can't wait!!).

I just noticed you were from sauk I'm from baraboo.

good luck!
