Hello, I'm new here and have found out some great info already for our stay at CBR at th eend of the month.

I have a question for you experts though, My 3 year old son is about 1m tall 39 inches, how stricked are the ride operators will he get on any of the 40 inch rides?

Also do you know how busy it will be the last couple of weeks of September. All the UK schools have gone back but what about the US ones.

Thanks

They are very strict in my experience.

If he's even a quarter of an inch short they won't let him on. Does he have any thick sneakers you could put him in to give him a little extra height?

For safety reasons, they are extremely strict. Be prepared to tell your child that he may not be able to ride the big rides. I've found in the past that if my son knows ahead he won't be able to ride, he doesn't have any problems when the CM tells him he can't.

Ditto. Some CM's will give a certificate for a ride the next time, though! It is too cute. My sons knew ahead of time that they couldn't ride everything, and that was that.

Last couple of weeks of Sept. were great year before last. Pretty much just walk on! Have a lovely trip!

My youngest daughter was 4 last November and only measured 38.5 inches. She walked up to the height checkers at both Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain and to my surprise she made the requirement even though it stated it was 40 inches. I think Disney may purposely have them set a little on the short side to accommodate people. I know my daughter was only 38.5 inches because she was measured at the doctor's office a week before our trip. All hope is not lost.

My DS is tall enough to go on...that isnt the issue. it is - SHOULD he go on? He is only 2. Obvisouly I wont take him on ToT or anything like that. But should I take him on?

I remember my youngest son made his sister trade shoes for the rides. He had on flat sandels and she had on platform sandals in 2000. He didn't care that they were "girl" sandels as long as he got to go on all the rides. lol

Now there is a picture LOL.

Just FYI I have recently seen CM's make children with obviously high shoes take them off as well as hats, they do measure to the head not the pony or bun :) I saw this more frequently on our February trip then I had in the past.

In my experience they are very strict with height and will often measure a child who looks close to the guideline more than once. Usually at the entrance to save you a wait for nothing and then again at boarding.

They are strict for the safety of your child. It would be best to prepare him ahead of time for the fact that he probably will not be able to ride those rides. Then, if he somehow grows an inch, it will be a pleasant surprise.
