Hi all- Yes, I have searched and read, but I just spoke with my guide. I was a member, but sold it in my recent divorce and am now ready to buy a small contract again. I want to start with the minimum and want to go direct (yes, I know the pros and cons). I've read here that the minimum direct for nonmembers is 50 points, but my guide just told me 100. Was he just saying that as a starting place or could it have gone up? I will probably get SSR, as that's where I owned before and my kids consider it home. But if SSR is 100 and somewhere else is 50, I may change my mind. Just wondering if the 100 is what they start with so I can negotiate to go to 50 or 75 instead.

Thank you in advance.

Are you financing? The minimum to finance is higher than the minimum for a cash purchase.

The new-member minimum is 50 points, but your guide is a salesperson. He'll sell what he thinks he can sell.

Yes, I will finance a part of it- that is possibly why the 100 minimum. Thank you!

Unless something has changed very recently, 50 is the minimum for a new member and can be financed.

100 is the usual minimum for marketing and 150-160 for promotions.

I bought 70 points direct as my first (and thus far only) purchase a few months ago. However, they were at Poly - which they are actively trying to sell. My guide didn't hesitate at all when I called and asked for under 100 points. We also paid cash, which seems to be generating mixed responses on this thread regarding its importance. Couldn't hurt to call back and see if the story changes for Poly or Aulani.

We became new members in July and were able to finance 75 points since 100 was just out of our means. So far i am happy that we did we are planning trips around 12-18 months now from every other year

We bought 100 points poly cash in February. Our guide didn't make it sound like any less was an option. (We wouldn't have purchased less points, but it would of been nice to have been aware it was an option.)

Can anybody tell me where I can find a list of price per point for each resort? We purchased 220 points resale at AKV in July and are considering a small add-on, but I can not find a pricing list anywhere. Thanks in advance!

We had asked questions told our guide that right now 100 points we could not do and then she told us that we could go as low as 50 points but that does not give you much options. She then showed us 75 points and what the finances were like and that we were able to work into our budget and now very happy.
