We have never gone miniture golfing at WDW and our 6 yr old DD really would like to miniture golf on our vacation. We will also have with us our 13 month old DD who will have to be in a stroller the whole time.

My question is: Is the miniture golf course flat? or does it have a lot of stairs involved? (Because if there are alot of stairs, it will be hard to use a stroller)

Another question: Do you feel the miniture golf course at WDW is worth going to? or should we pass and just go to the ones here at home?

Thank you very much for taking time to post your replys!!!

I haven't mini-golfed in WDW so I can't really tell you about the courses and whether there are stairs, but sitting in the stroller the whole time sounds really unfun to me for the 13 month old  unless your 13 month old really loves the stroller and can be kept entertained while the three of you play golf.

Perhaps one of you can take the 6 year old golfing while one of you does something else with the 13 month old (swim, nap, dig in the sand at one of the playgrounds, go for ice cream...). Just a thought if you think your 6 year old would love to play - that way it would be nice for both kids. I know I don't kliek to split up either because I like to do things as a family, but if it is really unfun for someone, maybe it might work better. Just a thought....

Go to Winter/Summerland near Blizzard Beach VERY much fun!!! As in true Disney style, the holes are geared to pretty much holes in one when you get close, so they're perfect for the 6 year old. The theming is great and there's little "noises" by the holes etc. We've done all the courses at WDW and really love Winter/Summerland. As far as the little one goes, because the course is so easy, it probably will not take that long, but it's fun.

We played at Fantasia two trips ago on the "challenging" course because the line for the fun course was too long. This course is pretty tricky ... sand traps and slopes right around the hole. I think if I were to play again I would have gone for the fun course :) I don't remember any stairs on the course (but I could be wrong)... One piece of advice is that the course gets hot, even at night because of all the walking. I also only remember one drink machine in the middle of the course... if you skipped that one, you'd probably have to walk back to the beginning of the course.

I'd nix the stroller and let the 13 mth old "play" with y'all too...that's what I did when Erich was that age! They won't charge you for a little, bitty child.I can't remember if it was at WDW or one of the mini golfs in Kissimee but they had these great, big plastic golf club for toddlers to use (no charge) so they felt like they were playing too!

I'd play at Winter/Summerland...the kids will love the themeing there! The Summer course is our favorite.

For kids, Winter/Summerland are probably the best. Fantasia "funcourse" has seveal holes that require hitting the ball up a "hill"--which many youngsters are quite unable to do.

I played the Fantasia easy course on my last trip and thought it was kind of boring. We have some really nice courses around here so maybe that is why.

We are not planning on playing mini golf this time. We plan on doing things that we cannot do around here.

:D

I echo the comments made by Eeyore2003 and Baloo. We played both courses on our last trip, and enjoyed both. But WinterSummerland is probably the best for younger kids. You're virtually guaranteed a hole-in-one on a couple of the holes.

As I recall, WinterSummerland has more shade...and Christmas lights strung throughout the course!

Uncleromulus makes a good point, too. If you're a Fantasia buff that course is really cool, but it does require a little more "oomph" on your shots.

BTW, my DS5 loved both courses!

My wife and I played the Fantasia "Challenging" Course in 2002 during our honeymoon. I am uber-competitive and a fairly decent golfer. The course is seriously difficult and I would definitely avoid it with small children. I don't remember any steps at all on the course.

We played at the Fantasia course in April and it was HOT, no shade....

We went there AFTER we checked out of the resort on our last day. That's the only way I'd ever go again too. Either before check in or after check out.

It's NOT worth giving up a minute of park time, or resort time for.

It's hard to take your time and enjoy it because there are people waiting behind you to play the hole, so it goes by kind of fast.

Oh gosh-- some of our funniest WDW memories came from the time we went to Winter Summerland after Mickey's Backyard BBQ.

We pretty much had the course to ourselves (December) and had a blast! We could take as long as we wanted (or in my case needed-- really it was a frog who knocked my ball out of the cup-- honest!) Of course, my mom who hasn't played mini-golf since the 80's, managed about 6 holes-in-one (ringer . . .)

I would think you'd be able to have a nice relaxed game with your youngin's there :D Plus the theming is too funny (especially in the Summerland section).
