We have 2005 town and country love it.

It was a smaller size and being in a NyC metro area it was size was great. Now they only make larger size are there any vans that are minis anymore??
Anyone got a recomendation we check out? Not a big fan of cross overs.

The guy in Kia told me they didn't. I was think maybe the mazda.

Mazda used to have the MPV that is a pretty small minivan (we have one). They stopped making them in 2006. They are all crossovers now.

We just bought a Mazda5. They call it a compact mini van. It only seats 6 (3 rows of 2) and there is very little room behind the third row of seats. It is listed as one of the 10 best cars for city driving.

I have a Toyota Sienna. I know they redesigned them this year, but I don't know if the new ones are bigger (mine is a 2004). It's about the same size as DH's grandma's 2006 Caravan.

We just got the 2011 Sienna yesterday . It is a pretty good size so I do not think it is considered "Mini".

They do it's the base model Kia. Maybe they just didn't have any in stock & he wanted to sell what he had in stock.http://www.kia.com/#/sedona/specifications/ It's the base. The LX & EX are the long wheel base. You can compare the exterior dimensions here. The Mazda is WAY small.

I am sure that is the reason.
Went to another Kia dealer, He even had the nerve to tell me he had one in stock when I called. When I got there he realized he didin't have it. He says it is on route to him.
Then he tried to sell me 8 other cars.

Apparently there are not to many around. A third dealer was nice enough to call me back and say that he couldn't find one available to order.

I think we are going to give up on the mini van, and go with Toyaota Rav 4 or Dodge Journey.

Though I think I am leaning to Rav 4 as it is most like the feel of the older Town and Country we have.

We have the Mazda5 and for our tiny family (1 parent, 1 kid, 1 smallish dog) it's perfect. I can load it up with 5 kids and drive somewhere. Or I can put down the seats and stick the bikes in the back and head off into the countryside. I can also parrallel park it anywhere because it's the same size as a Honda Civic.

What I can't do is carry 4 kids and a week's worth of groceries, or luggage for a Disney trip. It's basically a 4 seat car, with the option of turning your trunk into 2 more spaces. I love that flexibility, but if I had more than 2 kids it wouldn't be a viable option, unless I had another car somewhere (e.g. Dad has a "real" mini van, Mom has the Mazda5, they can both do carpool but grocery shopping, and vacations happen in the bigger car).

We have a mini van now, and that the feeling I got from looking at the Mazda. I think the Rav four is a little bigger.
Besides the Mazda is low to the ground and my wife is used to the height of the town and country.
