Just wondering what I should expect for a mini van for 2 weeks for March. I had an online reservation from Alamo for 400 USD however I had to change the day to one day earlier. It's now giving me a price of 600 USD.

What is considered a "normal" 2 week rental? I'm hoping they'll be some deals/coupons for that time period also.

Thanks! :)

I've seen non-discounted minivan rates as high as $300 per week (two week total of over $700 with tax, fees, etc.). I haven't really looked, but I'm not sure what kind of discounts or coupons are out there for 2007. I'd hold the reservation and keep checking the rates. I book, cancel, rebook several times to get the best rate which usually appears as you get closer to your travel date. Keep trying! :)

We got a mini-van from Alamo for 10 days through Priceline for $270.

Can I ask why brand of minivan you were able to rent from Alamo? I'm tempted to try Priceline, however, I want to do it "at the last minute", if at all. I want to make sure nothing is going to stop us from going on our trip - then I'd be stuck with a minivan I can't use.

How far in advance did you secure the van with Priceline? I'm curious if the price goes down the closer you get to your vacation dates.

Did you add any extras when you got to the counter? Could you, if you wanted? Like gps system. Do you have to go to the counter?
