I've never rented a mini van before, but because my DM will be along we will need a larger vehicle. Does anyone know what I can expect to pay at the end of October for eight days? When I put in my dates with National and Budget it comes up at $400 or more! That seems high. Is there a way to get a better deal?

Thanks for your help.

Hi check out Alamo. They are at MCO terminal. I was checking out the site and they had a minivan listed for 239.00/week. Go to the web site and click on hot deals at the top of the page that is where I saw it. Good Luck and have a great trip. :goodvibes

Check www.mousesavers.com for a list of codes you can try for discounts on car rentals. I got a good deal first week of November with ALamo using a WalMart code i saw on that site. Of course, I suspect I will be able to snag a lower price as the week gets closer but I am happy to have something decent alreadybooked just in case that doesn't happen.

Try Thrifty! They are offsite but have 24 hour shuttle which is only about a 5-10 min. shuttle ride. I booked them for Oct. 8-15 for a mini-van for $174.99 per week plus one extra day for 27.99. Grand total after all taxes and surcharges is 259.30. I have been searching daily and this is by far the cheapest I have found. If you divide the total by 8 days, this comes to around $32 per day (remember, that is after all taxes, etc..). Also signed up for their BlueChip program which is supposed to be a speedier line to pick up the car! Good luck!

if you are staying onsite, could you use Magical Express to go to/from your resort and then pick up your care from a NON-airport location? Sometimes that is a money saver.

I booked a minivan through ez rental car for Oct 26 through Nov. 2nd for $202 total price. They are offsite from the airport, but right now they are 1/2 the price of the other places.

i saw the EZ rate, too, and just asked a question elsewhere about other people's experiences with them. Not sounding too good right now but i'm sure we'll see other opinions.

We used ez once before, and I personally didn't have a problem with them. I have read where others have. I know they seem to be sticklers about having proof of insurance, and sometimes just your card won't do. They ask for the front page of the actualy policy. For that much of a savings I'll take a chance. If they don't provide what is promised, I'll just skip the minivan and get two cars from somewhere else.
