Mini-trip TR ~ Emma's First trip, My first MNSSHP and F&W! LOOKING AHEAD!

I'm making 'Ohana Bread Pudding tonight!!

I got the recipe from Allears. It's the bread pudding from 'Ohana at the Poly!! If you remember, we ate there on our honeymoon and snagged a last minute ADR for this trip!! I reeeeally hope it's good. I wasn't quite sure what kind of bread to use...I went with Challa because I didn't know what "'Ohana bread" was on the recipe. I goggled 'Ohana bread pudding and some recipes used Challa so what the heck!! It's been baking for 30 mins now...30 to go!!

Awww, she loves it!

(First prize for the one who knows which show we're watching on the TV! HILARIOUS!)

I give up...what was it?

I'm making 'Ohana Bread Pudding tonight!!

How did it turn out????

Aww bless looks like Emma had a fab Christmas, she looks so pleased and happy with her little car :)

Aw, Emma looks so cute!

Happy belated Christmas!!!

(Still trying to figure out how to post photos so you can see the short hair. Also, my kitty is not doing so good :( I know you'd understand. Crossing my fingers that we have at least another year or two with him - but he is almost 16 so he's led a full long life!)

The bread pudding was delicious! So rich, though...couldn't eat too much of it at a time!

Merry christmas!!

You too, Christy! Hope you had a good one!

Oh she LOVED it! I'm glad I gave it to hear a couple of days before because by the time Christmas came, she had toy overload!

Aww! So sorry to hear about your cat. What is going on?

My cat's kidneys are failing. Doc says we should be able to manage it with diet for a while and his heart tests came back and his heart is fine - yeah! He's always been big (about 17 pounds) but he lost 2 pounds in 8 months so he's using up his muscle (seriously, he has muscle under all that??) so he's getting to be a great-grandpa (with no kids, but I call him grandpa). We'll try the diet and have tests done in another month. So no immediate danger that we can see but we'll be watching him. Not the best news, but I was worried I'd have to see him to kitty heaven sooner than I would like. Of course, I don't EVER want that to happen...

Good to hear that your kitty's heart is good and that there's no immediate danger. Hopefully the diet will be successful!!

Well, it's the new year and I'm starting my my master's degree program on Monday! I'm not super excited about it but I know it's the best thing for me to do in the long run. It will be a significant salary increase PLUS if I don't do it, our district freezes us at step 10 on the pay scale...and I'm on 7 now so.....

Anyway, I must finish this TR before I begin so here it is....the finale!

Day 4 ~ October 5, 2009 ~ MK

It's so funny how different Emma is already just a few months later, but on this trip, she had just learned to walk and could not be stopped!! So after breakfast, we spent some time walking around.

We stopped for a minute while Emma decided where we would go next...

She decided on the hub so we kind of just hung around for a few and took some pics.

I LOVE the Partners statue!

When my sister got married 4 years ago, I made her a scrapbook of old pictures of us growing up and I had to make TWO pages just of pictures of us isitting in this spot! It was funny to see how the landscape (and even the castle at times (PINK)) changed over the years in each picture. Since we hadn't been to WDW together since 2003, it was a MUST that we continued the tradition and took this picture.

ry%3D480

Of course, Tom and I had to do one too.
ry%3D480

Okay, I'm going to go on a rant about my wedding photographer for a minute. (I know, it seems random but trust me, it's related!) So we found this spot that we wanted our pics taken for our wedding in Perth Amboy. There used to be a ferry that went over the river to Tottenville, Staten Island, where Tom is from. This is the best she could do....

ry%3D480

Now I understand she had to stand far away because the structure was so big...much like this picture I took of my sister near the castle. She looks small because she is standing right in front of the castle, which is far away.

ry%3D480

Now I am no professional photographer, but I know enough about perspective to have her come back to me, stand with Tom and get another picture of them with the castle in the background! I was standing in the exact spot I was when I took the last picture, I just had the subjects move to see them better.

ry%3D480

Now wouldn't it have made sense for our photographer to ask us to move up closer to the camera so she could still get the whole structure yet we'd be bigger?? I'm sorry, I know this is totally unrelated to the TR but whenever I get to those two pictures in my album, I am reminded of how a "professional" photographer was not smart enough to figure out the same technique!

Ok, rant over. Don't you love that picture of Tom and my sister? I've framed it!

So after hanging around the hub, we made our way to Fantasyland since Emma hadn't done any of these rides yet.

ry%3D480

My sister, BIL, Emma and I went on it's a small world while Tom was entertained by a stroller situation just outside. It's funny how we never payed any attention to strollers until we had one with us! Anyway, he was intrigued at how quickly strollers were moved from random places to the correct spots. It's just one of those things that you would never notice until you were looking for it but there are CMs on top of EVERYTHING!

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

After that, we made out way to Tomorrowland, where Emma, once again, delighted in the misting area.

232323232%7Ffp63237%3Enu%3D3973%3E34%3A%3E25%3A%3EWSNRCG%3D3247%3A%3B95%3A534%3Bnu0mrj

While she was doing that, Tom and I spotted PUSH, as well as "his friend." Do you see him on the left wearing a Mickey t-shirt, with one hand in his bag and the other up to his mouth? Again, unless you were looking for him, you wouldn't never notice him!

ry%3D480

Then we made out way to the "still awesome even though the new narration sucks" TTA.

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Construction was still going on at Space Mountain...

And BACK to the mist, this time with Momma!
ry%3D480

Cont....

After that, we wanted to take Emma on the train so we took the little pathway to Toon Town. We almost didn't think we could even go that way because we had to pretty much walk through the Space Mountain construction. Tom thinks he's doing a nice job!

ry%3D480

232323232%7Ffp63237%3Enu%3D3973%3E34%3A%3E25%3A%3EWSNRCG%3D3247%3B239%3B734%3Bnu0mrj

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

We got off in Frontierland, where it is always SUPER crowded in that little area around Splash and BTMRR! So we quickly got out of there and took Emma for her first ride on Pirates!

ry%3D480

After Pirates, Tom and I were hungry for lunch so we said good bye to my sister, DBIL and little Emma for the last time! We very much enjoyed being with them but, like I said earlier in this TR, it was a LOT of waiting around and Tom and I are used to the GO GO GO style.

We are at Pecos Bill and then walked around some more, enoying the Magic Kingdom Halloween details.

ry%3D480

We decided to walk through the stores on Main Street. I left Tom to run to the bathroom near Town Hall when it started to POUR!!!

ry%3D480

Tom was at the corner by the Barber Shop and I was stuck near the bathroom! It went on for a good 10 mins before it let up and I ran for it to meet up with Tom. Pretty soon, the rain stopped completely and we decided we'd better just go back to catch out ME bus...

We had a little time, so we stopped back at Old Port Royal to have a quick drink before catching the internal bus to the Custom House.
ry%3D480

The ride back to the airport was quiet and sad, as always...especially because it was such a short trip and it was torture knowing that my sister's fam was still there for a few more days!

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Fortunately, we had a plane with the individual screens so the flight went super fast! I played Sudoku and Tom watched Die Hard or something similar!

Ah, Nueva York! Almost there...
ry%3D480

Overall, this trip was like none other we've ever had! It was quite an experience to travel, not only with a baby, but with other people in general! Food and Wine was definitely the highlight and I will definitely try to get there again!! In fact, as soon as we got home, I looked up the dates for Rosh Hashannah for the next few years to see if they fall on a Mon/Tues or Thurs/Fri so we can make another long weekend!! Fortunately for me, it works out that was for the next few years!!

Thank you so much for sticking with me on this drawn out TR!! I hope to talk to everyone again soon! Hopefully, I will have another TR after our next trip, which should be end of June/beginning of July. I'm waiting to see how easy/hard it is to submit work in advance now that I'm starting my master's. I don't want to book anything until I'm sure I'll be able to go away for a week and not have it affect my assignements and stuff.

Okay, no I leave you with two more pictures. The day we left, my sister and her husband decided to take disney up on their bounceback deal. DBIL was in the shower and my sister was on the phone booking while Emma was doing this......

Good luck with your Masters! I would like to do one.

But right now, I'm busy trying to get my equivalence in the us, esp. fl.

Hey, you can see Quebec on the map hehe

BTW, I heard planes would not have these maps anymore.

Thanks for all the fun, Nikki- good luck with the masters- where are you taking the courses?

Lol that last pic of Emma is so cute, she looks like she is saying, "What, what did I do?" Bless.

Is always sad when a TR comes to an end, but I have really enjoyed reading along with you guys :)

Any future trips planned for this year?

Thanks Ellen! I'm actually doing an online program, it's called Walden. Hopefully, it will be more convenient to go to class on my couch in my PJs than actually communte.
