Well, it's the new year and I'm starting my my master's degree program on Monday! I'm not super excited about it but I know it's the best thing for me to do in the long run. It will be a significant salary increase PLUS if I don't do it, our district freezes us at step 10 on the pay scale...and I'm on 7 now so.....
Anyway, I must finish this TR before I begin so here it is....the finale!
Day 4 ~ October 5, 2009 ~ MK
It's so funny how different Emma is already just a few months later, but on this trip, she had just learned to walk and could not be stopped!! So after breakfast, we spent some time walking around.
We stopped for a minute while Emma decided where we would go next...
She decided on the hub so we kind of just hung around for a few and took some pics.
I LOVE the Partners statue!
When my sister got married 4 years ago, I made her a scrapbook of old pictures of us growing up and I had to make TWO pages just of pictures of us isitting in this spot! It was funny to see how the landscape (and even the castle at times (PINK)) changed over the years in each picture. Since we hadn't been to WDW together since 2003, it was a MUST that we continued the tradition and took this picture.
Of course, Tom and I had to do one too.
Okay, I'm going to go on a rant about my wedding photographer for a minute. (I know, it seems random but trust me, it's related!) So we found this spot that we wanted our pics taken for our wedding in Perth Amboy. There used to be a ferry that went over the river to Tottenville, Staten Island, where Tom is from. This is the best she could do....
Now I understand she had to stand far away because the structure was so big...much like this picture I took of my sister near the castle. She looks small because she is standing right in front of the castle, which is far away.
Now I am no professional photographer, but I know enough about perspective to have her come back to me, stand with Tom and get another picture of them with the castle in the background! I was standing in the exact spot I was when I took the last picture, I just had the subjects move to see them better.
Now wouldn't it have made sense for our photographer to ask us to move up closer to the camera so she could still get the whole structure yet we'd be bigger?? I'm sorry, I know this is totally unrelated to the TR but whenever I get to those two pictures in my album, I am reminded of how a "professional" photographer was not smart enough to figure out the same technique!
Ok, rant over. Don't you love that picture of Tom and my sister? I've framed it!
So after hanging around the hub, we made our way to Fantasyland since Emma hadn't done any of these rides yet.
My sister, BIL, Emma and I went on it's a small world while Tom was entertained by a stroller situation just outside. It's funny how we never payed any attention to strollers until we had one with us! Anyway, he was intrigued at how quickly strollers were moved from random places to the correct spots. It's just one of those things that you would never notice until you were looking for it but there are CMs on top of EVERYTHING!
After that, we made out way to Tomorrowland, where Emma, once again, delighted in the misting area.
While she was doing that, Tom and I spotted PUSH, as well as "his friend." Do you see him on the left wearing a Mickey t-shirt, with one hand in his bag and the other up to his mouth? Again, unless you were looking for him, you wouldn't never notice him!
Then we made out way to the "still awesome even though the new narration sucks" TTA.
Construction was still going on at Space Mountain...
And BACK to the mist, this time with Momma!
