I have a Canon Powershot SX1-IS. I like it a lot, as it feels in between a point-and-shoot and a DSLR. I do some shooting in Auto mode, but also use a lot of the semi-manual modes for low-light situations. And it helps to have a steady hand... or a tripod, which I did not use on this trip. I also take a LOT of photos and usually only like about 20% of them.
I actually used to have a SX3-IS (previous generation) that I liked better. But it was stolen, and I "upgraded." It certainly has some upgraded features, but I really prefer the design of the old one. I hate when manufacturers think they can improve on something that has no problems.
