Is it just me or does anyone else think that the mini-speedboats were quite slow at FW? My son and I felt like we were standing still compared to boats from other resorts. We actually brought the boat back and got another and it was the same way. IS it possible to rent boats from other resorts? Overall, it was kind of disappointing.

We also found the boats to be slow, but had fun nonetheless. We never had two people in a boat ..... that brought the speed up quite a bit. As our kids are over 5 ft, they were each allowed to drive their own boat. Although the FW marina personnel assured us that all the resort boats were the same, we did see many Poly boats passing us that seemed equally loaded, so I am not sure if that was true ..... perhaps just a coincidence!

I would think that all of the boats on the 7 seas lagoon/ Bay Lake are all running at the same speed or at least from what I have seen during the times when I was there. What I have noticed was that how slow the watermice were at Coronado Springs, perhaps due to a much smaller lagoon area.

All the boats are identical with the same 9.9 hp engine. The biggest difference in performance is the total weight of the riders.
I know the boat fits 2 people but that is the main reason you had poor performance. The boats you see zipping around are young kids that weigh under 110 lbs. An adult and kid can easily weigh 275 lbs.
