Well we made it. What a trip and a hurricane in Orlando! The winds blew to about 90 MPH at Disney. Was not allowed to stay at the Carb. Beach resorts was moved to the Cornado Resort.
They did a good job trying to keep everyone happy on Friday.

The port on Saturday was MASSIVE gridelock. The Ship was still unloading at 11 AM Took 2 hours to get the car to Avis and back on the shuttle. We left at 7:25 P.M. and currently I am sitting in Key West at the Internet Cafe on Duval. There looks like there about 150 or so people ready to board the ship. They said at dinner that there would be about 500 boarding in Key West. THey did receive special pemission to board those a t Key West. The buzz is about the next Hurricane? EARL?? That is supposed to effect Cayman and COzumel next Wed and Thursday.

So that is it for now! More later

WOW. Now that is above and beyond the call of duty to get all those cruisers to their ship! Thanks for the check-in.

Thank you for letting us know how it was going. I know many of us have been thinking of all of you and wondering.

Have a safe, calm sea trip the rest of your trip!

Thanks for taking the time to do this. keep us posted if you can.

Very interesting.

Glad you made it and thanks for the report.

I heard about the gridlock at the port from DD. One of her friends sat on the Returning Crew bus for 1 1/2 hours waiting on the ship to dock yesterday morning. And with the delay in debarkation, I can imagine the problems they had. Usually the debarking passengers are out of the area by 9:30 or 10:00 at the latest and the embarking passengers don't arrive until 10:00 or 10:30 so there's very little overlap.

Thanks for the report. Glad you made it safely. Hope you have great weather and EARL leaves you alone. Have Fun!!!:sunny:

I hope all goes well for everyone from here on & it's a totally enjoyable trip. Keep us posted & thanks for the interesting info.

Thanks for posting. I hope that the rest of the cruise goes well for everyone!:D

Thanks for the info - was wondering how things turned out. How full would you say the ship is? Keep us posted and hope the rest of the trip goes well!

Thanks for taking the time to post, disneyma! I hope you have a great trip, no matter what direction the ship takes you! :sunny:

thanks for the Update... have a great cruise...

Have a safe and calm trip. It looks like Earl may stay in the Eastern Caribbean.

Jenn and Peter...Those pups are just too cute. Are they Cocker Spaniels? I just want to hug and kiss them.

Thanks for taking the time to post! Have a safe and great cruise!

I'm so glad people are getting their cruise one way or another! I wonder if cruise director Rachel will be saying "wasn't the weather wonderful?" or "let's give Mother Nature a hand" at the debarkation talk this week!:p

I would say the ship is almost. Full... lot of people can on Key West.

The Cap just announce schedule change due to EARL

Day at sea Cancelled arrive at Cozumel at 5 today, staying here overnight until 4 pm on Tuesday. Grand Cayman Cancelled Day at sea on Wednesday.... Thursday to Nassau the Bahamas... Friday Castaway Cay.

Sounds like you are having a mystery cruise. Sorry to hear you'll be missing Grand Cayman. Enjoy your cruise and glad to hear so many were able to make it on at Key West.

disneyma,

what will happen to any DCL arranged excursions? do you get to do the Cozumel excursions on the new day? I assume that the Grand Caymon excursions just get cancelled. Then at Nassau, you get to make your own?

thanks

Dumb question. Did the people have to get to Key West on their own, or did Disney help them with the arrangements?

As of 11am, the Hurricane Center stopped reporting on Earl because it had dissipated into a tropical wave...

Wonder if that will change DCL's plans again. Although I don't know if skipping Grand Cayman had more to due with damage there from Charley?????

Enjoy your mystery cruise!

Linda
