"Mini" Photo Pass Question

Hi all! I have seen many people with the, for lack of a better description, "mini" photo passes, the ones on the stretchy phone cord type wrist bands, and despite being a frequent visitor to Disney World over the past few years, I have never gotten one. I always get the typical card. How do you get this type of photo pass (they sure seem more convenient as you can just wear them like a bracelet which would make them easily accessible.) I have heard that they are distributed at the water parks (which I have never visited) but can they be obtained any other way? Thanks for your help.

Confirmed, they give them out in the waterparks, typically when you're in the lazy river, or coming off a slide a photog will take your picture and throw one to you. However, when we were there in Sept, the coiled bands they were using were way too small, very tight and uncomfortable for the average adult.

We've always gotten them at the water parks, but they are very convenient. I wonder if we could reuse the ones from a previous trip?

okay, i just realized that's a horrible explanation, but yes, they are distributed at the water parks. if you go to a photopass center in one of the parks, you may be able to get your hands on one, but i didn't say that.

can you use photopass cards from previous trips? in this case, today, yes. i don't really recommend it because the system is always capable of changing and hopefully they won't do so in a way that would make the old cards appear to work when they don't, but it's your decision. you'd probably be safe trying.

the only difference between a new card and an old card is the old card is still married to your disneyphotopass.com account and pictures will start appearing 'immediately' after they're taken. so make sure you can still access that account.

Thanks so much for the info. I think it might be worth my while to ask in one of the four main parks on my next visit (which will be Christmas day, if not sooner. I'm not too excited...lol.)
