Hi
Staying at the Newport Bay for the first time. Are there mini fridges in the rooms?
DH has medication that has to be kept in the fridge can youplace it in the fridge or are they weight sensitive ones that could result in us being charged for using the fridge?

The rooms do have minibars but they are the weight sensitive ones and I believe they are not actually as cold as a fridge. In some of the rooms we have stayed in the minibar has been locked which suited us as the kids couldn't play. :goodvibes

Has anyone ever taken their own mini fridge.

I was thinking of taking one for DH medication but also using it for some bottles of water.

Do you think they will unplug it we are staying in the NBC?

We took one once but I don't think we ever actually plugged it in. Generally they haven't unplugged things like my hair straighteners or phone chargers so I can't see why the would unplug a fridge. Be careful though because we have noticed that some of the sockets can be wired into the lighting circuit (normally the ones that the lamps are plugged into, or meant to be plugged into) so they are only active if the lights are switched on.

Oh yeah I never thought of that!
It will be mainly to put drinks over the night. Sure if it is working over night it will be cool enough for DH tablets in the day.

Hi, we took an electric cool box with us for our stay at DLH.
I took my own milk for my nightly cuppa :coffee:, really dont like
the French milk!! Just keep it filled with ice from the machine's on
each floor.

It never got unplugged at all & we has it plugged in on an extention lead ( along with all the usual gadgets ) we took with us via the lamp socket &
it worked fine.

Our dd needed to put medication in a fridge when we were at dlp many years ago. We were staying at HNY and when we checked in I showed them the medicine and they said it was fine to put this in the mini bar fridge. They put a note of it against the room and said that they'd note this in case anything was moved to fit the medicine in. :thumbsup2

My DS needs to keep meds cold but rather than trust to Hotel facilities we use Frio bags which are insulated bags designed for keeping meds at the correct temperature.
Saves lots of worry about transporting meds and/or leaving items in fridges! Look them up on line - they are reasonably priced and rerally work. :goodvibes
