Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

Good morning! I am checking in from work while waiting for a patient. The pics of Jill and John soaked are funny. I am sure they did not think so at the time. It reminds me of us at DHS in December, 2 years ago. It was pouring and freezing. We were soaked and cold!!! That was the night we were given FPs to TSM by a CM. It was just the thing to make the night better.;)
I agree that the Swan and Dolphin are not my style.

I never did respond to your update. I'm glad she came through nicely. Maybe she'll be able to eat well enough by the end of the week that she can enjoy some holiday goodies. :thumbsup2
I hope she will! She was tired of ice cream and yogurt so I made a pot of potato soup and she ate 2 bowls!
Merry Christmas to you and your family and have a great trip!

At least they were not freezing along with their soaking. That would not be fun at all!!!

I know a lot of teachers and government employess do take advantage of the Swan and Dolphin resorts. It was plenty busy when we were there. I have heard they had some good character breakfasts that are easy to get into, so that is something to think of if we are ever having a hard time/getting in late booking a character meal.

It would take me a few days to get tired of ice cream. I am pretty much an addict. ::yes:: Potato soup sounds good. I have been thinking of making some this week, but I haven't done it yet. I need to finish off a bag of potatoes before I leave.

Bella, as I write, has just finished doing her EEG stuff. Jill said she did a good job for the most part, but toward the end she got a little antsy. Jill said she pulled up the castle show for her to watch on her phone while the lady finished her job. Disney magic at its best! :wizard:

Hope all is ok with Bella. Has she not been well? Due to lack of time, i have been skimming over Trip reports quicker than i like to. Hope i haven't missed an important post about her. So sorry if i have. Glad to hear that she went on ok today, and hope the results come back soon.

Jill was going to try to put links up, but that fell by the wayside. She doesn't get a lot of DIS time, so when she does, she likes to enjoy it, not 'work' at it. I started going through and writing page numbers down that have trip pictures so that people can skip through the silliness if they need to. So far, besides the links Jill did get to post, I have pages 11, 15, 21, 24, 29, 32 and 36 as being updates with pictures. I'll keep going a little at a time, but it takes time to go through that many pages. Anybody want to scope out a ten page section and report back which pages have picture updates???

Wow - you are awesome! Thanks for the help!
I started going from back to front, so I came up with 193 (Christmas), 194 (Emporium), 195 (Disney wedding stuff and Christmas), 196 (Emporium), 198 (Christmas), 200 (Christmas), 201 (French Quarter), 202 (Main Street) 204 (Christmas), 205, 207, 208 (Christmas) 210, 211, 213 (Christmas) and 215. I am not nearly as fast as you are.

I guess I technically should be working on making out my Christmas cards to the staff at the preschool...but I don't feel like it just yet. Here ya go! :rotfl:

37 (not really an update, just two pictures of the HM ring and an ice cream board), 43, 45 (party for Brooklynn starting school), 47 (Brooklynn starting school), 51 (Brooklynn pictures through the years), 54, 60, 63 (classroom pictures), 64, 67, 70, 72, 76, 78, 80.

THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS EASY!!!! I felt so left out!!! I will be getting caught up for certain, and a lot faster!!!! :goodvibes

I have a pretty good idea of what she is most likely about to go through. I saw my dad die of cancer, and it was ugly.

I'm sorry MeMom  I saw my aunt die of cancer in 2010 and it was awful. She was always really active, walking and rollerblading all the time. It was tough to see her in bed the last few months. I spent the last 32 hours of her life in her hospital room, watching her fight up until the last minute. She had already survived cancer three times before that.

I'm glad you'll get to escape to your happy place in a few days! I'm still not sure if we're going. My grandma is supposed to be going home next Friday and the nursing home will take care of setting up her in home care. My mom said there's no reason we can't go if that's what happens. I think this is the first time my mom has wanted to go as much as me. She's really stressed and desperately needs a break. Keep your fingers crossed that they let my grandma go home next week!

Hi friends...life is ridiculous right now!
I have soo much to do and the days are going by too quickly.

I am so sorry your dear sweet Aunt Joan has a rough road ahead. I pray that she will be comforted and her family will have some precious time to cherish her.
I wish cancer would just disappear.
I am thankful that you had such a loving and kind family that took you under thier wing. They sound like very special people.

Well folks I am officially 40 years old as of Saturday.
I was lucky enough to get 3 surprises.
My sister sent a huge chocolate basket to work which I am still snacking on.
My boss sent a singing clown with a balloon basket to serenade me (totally embarrassed me in front of a very large crowd of customers & staff)
My DMom booked a suite in the States w/Jacuzzi Saturday night.
We had an amazing dinner at a steakhouse and enjoyed a swim after.
Sunday we shopped.

I bought a Mickey & Minnie carousel inflatable. It's so cute!

This was my cake. The icing was whipped cream and it was incredible.

Monday night we saw Disney Live! It was so much fun. LOVED IT!
Enjoyed the slush cups (Lexi had Mickey and I got Belle), popcorn and cotton candy were yummy too.
A nice taste of Disney before our trip. :)

Wow, speaking of trips yours is 4 sleeps away!!! :dance3:
I was able say "one week from today I will be in WDW" all day today and it was very exciting!! :woohoo:

Time is going by so fast that I almost wish I had more time. Still have nothing wrapped and no clothes packed.
It will get done...somehow...

I hope you are enjoying the week off from school. :yay: Must be very nice to not have to get up in the morning.
Today we had freezing rain. Not a pleasant drive home.
But we will have a green Christmas.

I had to laugh at the pics of health aids at the gift shop.
Believe me when I say....they came in very handy while I was there on my last trip...a blessing no matter what the cost. :rotfl:

I have to give BrooklynsMommy & John koodos for going the extra mile in the pouring rain for that sombrero.
True parents love I tell you.

I will be keeping everyone in my prayers in the days ahead that we all stay safe and can enjoy the holidays with our loved ones.

Happy Belated Birthday Lana! Sounds like you had a wonderful day and got some great gifts!
We'll be seeing you real soon!

Hope everything turns out okay with Bella. I already posted on FB, but my prayers are with her.

The procedure went very quickly. We think it will be fine. Prayers are appreciated.

August 5 - 11! :goodvibes

I will be fully immersed in a new school year at that time, so it will be nice to think of DIS friends enjoying the parks. Maybe you can send us a Poly picture one day while you are there.

She had an eye infection - both eyes. Jill was trying to give her medicine and Bella was ill and fighting taking the medicine. Jill said at one point in her screaming her eyes started rolling around and she just looked 'different', so she wanted to be sure it wasn't a mini-seizure. With Bella having had the little eye tumor when she was an infant, there will be no taking chances or overlooking any sign of any kind of issue.

Jill just wanted to keep things quiet until it was time to go so her mother-in-law wouldn't go into her drama about it. That's why she didn't say anything until after she was safely back at home after Bella's dance program. John's mother means well, I'm sure, but she is an expert in 'making a mountain out of a mole hill'. Don't know if that's just a hillbilly expression or if you more sophisticated people have heard that one, too, but you get the gist.

THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS EASY!!!! I felt so left out!!! I will be getting caught up for certain, and a lot faster!!!! :goodvibes

I'll try to work on the list a little more today. It will be easier to do this as we go along next time. Lesson learned.

Joan has always been an active involved person. Right now she is just a weak, weak lady who feels really bad. :sad1: Dawn and Kellye say she is just doing a lot of sleeping. I am waiting for her to feel good enough to have some company. I'm just talking to the girls on the phone every day to keep up. They think she might be able to come home this weekend, if everything falls into place.

I really hope you get to make your Disney trip. :wizard:

I do believe a lot of people thought you were special to do all of that birthday partying! :dance3: You got a great dose of Disney, for sure!

I went yesterday and stocked up on Advil, moleskin, hair products, etc., but I know if I leave anything out, I can get it at one of the resorts. :thumbsup2

I am very much enjoying my time at home. I still don't sleep late, but it is really nice to just be able to chill out and watch Christmas movies and have some nothing time. Plus, I have gotten a lot of little chores done. I really do have to concentrate on the packing now. I got some snack stuff yesterday, so it's in the suitcase now. The rooms cost so much on this trip, since it is a holiday time, so I have to be extra extra careful with my food budget.

Happy Belated Birthday Lana! Sounds like you had a wonderful day and got some great gifts!
We'll be seeing you real soon!

This week is slipping away from me. I am going to Jill's Saturday morning, so I have to get into high gear today!

**********************************************

I only have two more sleeps in my bed, and then I head off to Alabama. Santa will come Saturday night, and the girls will have fun with their things for a short time that morning before we leave for the airport. As excited as I know I will be when we get there, it really has been hard to be ecstatic over the trip because of knowing what is going on with some of the people around us. It is not right to try to put it/them out of my mind, but keeping them close to my mind can become sad.

I talked to Joan's oldest daughter, Dawn, last night. She said it all seems so unreal. She's going through the motions of life. She is hosting her husband's side of the family Saturday for a meal. She said she's torn between having a normal Christmas for the entire family, which includes her three little grandsons who will be fully into the joy and excitement and the need to be sitting with her mom and dad. I know exactly where she is coming from, because my dad went into the hospital in early December. Unfortunately, he was never able to come home. Joan should get to come home soon, but her future is not looking good.

The latest the doctors have said is that every sample of cells from every part of her they took does have cancer, and it is fast growing. No treatment options can be discussed until her body is able to handle it, and that is not the case right now.

As Dawn and I discussed, though, Joan would not want things to stop for everyone, especially the little boys. Neither Dawn nor I would want our kids to sit around and be sad with us when they should be doing happy, normal things with their kids. This is a bad thing that is happening, but it cannot consume everyone and every moment. So far, no time frame has been spoken by a doctor, so nobody thinks things are in the last days at this point. When doctors do indicate that that time has come, the girls will of course drop things and be with her. In the end, Joan's home will be heaven. No one has any doubt about that. So the end, though it will be incredibly sad for those left here, will be a new and glorious beginning. She will go on to receive her reward for the good life she has lived. There will be a huge hole left here where she was, but time will watch others begin to fill those roles and time will ease the pain. She has been special to a lot of people, myself included, and I am incredibly grateful God blessed my life by having her in it.

It seems so presumptious, though, even talking about possibly losing her, because none of us knows when our own time will come. We could be talking about what seems like an obvious thing for someone else, yet something could happen to one of us - a car wreck or whatever - at any moment. I know two strong men who had their lives changed by wrecks this year. One is paralyzed and withering away. One has a lot more hope, but he is still in rehab and can only use one side of his body. I'm sure they didn't know that last motorcycle/car ride was going to end like it did. I keep thinking about the 28 year old young man who was killed in the huge pile-up here a few weeks ago. He had been married 7 weeks. You know he and his new wife had nothing but positive, happy thoughts for a first Christmas together, and their presumed path ended up totally different than what they had planned. Anyway, I don't mean for any of this sound depressing - just thought-provoking. We should not assume we have a lot of tomorrows to get things done. Maybe we don't. We can't wait until we know our days are short in number before we can rush and do good things for others. We need to start that now. One day, we will be a memory. What kind of memory will we be for those around us? :)

After our time at Swan and Dolphin, we were going to go meet Jill and John at the back gate of Epcot, but Jill said just to meet at Yacht Club, where she had parked.

We took the boat.

MeMom and family,

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a fantastic trip!

Good thoughts sent for everyone.

I hope all is well with Bella. How scary it must have been for Jill. I will pray for great test results and will continue to pray for Aunt Joan.

I cannot believe your trip is so close. The weather is looking good for the next week.

Will this ever happen for us?

LastofDisneySummer2011247.jpg

I have faith that it will! ;)

I love the whole Boardwalk area. We went there for the first time in November and I fell in love. It's neat seeing pictures now that I have been b/c I finally know what I'm looking at! I'd love to stay at ANY of the resorts over there. It's like a vacation within a vacation there.

Please let us know how things turned out with Bella's tests. I'm sure she's is perfectly fine though. She's a very happy, healthy little girl.

If I don't get back here before you leave, I hope you guys have a safe and fabulous trip. And Merry Christmas to you and all your family! :santa:

here I sit as I have cleaned off most of my desk at work. I can see the actual top pf the desk and the stack that remains just needs to be filed.

I am nothing pressing on my adgenda until Tuesday where I have to do the final preparations for the next session of lessons/classes that will begin while I am away.

The second cloudy/rainy day for us here, so catching up here is my plan. :)

So sorry to hear about Aunt Joan and I hope she has some time without much pain and she can be as comfortable as possible.

Great news that Bella did well and hopefully the test will be all be normal and that episode was just a blip.

I can't wait to see everyone again and enjoy ringing in a new year. This year as most have been filled with lots of ups and downs but I am looking forward to a new year and forging ahead.

Hugs for you all! I know that everyone will need strength to get through these hard times.

I really think the Yacht Club has a warm feel, maybe a little stuffy but cozy all the same. I like Mickey in the boat! You should see it dressed up for Christmas!
We hung out with Cheena, Ed and the kids one Christmas day there, good times were had!

I am still praying for sweet little Bella. If you get a chance to head to WL can you throw some more quarters in for me please?
