Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

Oh man the teacups. I don't think I could do those even if our cup wasn't spun at all! (and with a 0 minute wait!) I used to love them though!

Wow, that article pretty much says it all. It shows how ridiculous and stressful this new evaluation system is to everyone. I just hope national attention will help.
Have a great day!

Hopefully the article will help in some way. It does show how ridiculous it all sounds.

They might as well grade teachers based on how well they can predict how many snow days you will have. The odds are about the same as the method they are using. :lmao:

I have never seen Alice riding the tea cups. How fun! :goodvibes A lemonade slushie sure sounds yummy!

Sorry I haven't been around in the last few days MeMom. I got pretty sick like I do often and found out it's my gallbladder. The old thing will have to be removed soon. Blah!

If you have a second, read this article about our education woes in Nashville.

Boy - if that doesn't tell everyone how ridiculous that system is! It sounds like a system created by non-educators for sure! I'm sorry for you and your colleagues. I hope more people are made aware and that they go back and make drastic changes. They seem to have lost sight of the goal being educating the kids and you all lose precious time doing that!

Well, it looks like Jeremy didn't run poor Alice away from the MK after the joke he told her!!! That is the same one we had the day he said something to her......:rolleyes1 Hope I will get my trip done before we leave next week!

What great MK pictures. The girls look like they are having so much fun in Fantasyland.

I think we can go ahead and tell Abby about the Hidden Mickey cracks in the sidewalks and all the other cool stuff we gush about around here. When we taught together we were kindred spirits in our love of Disney. She has been several times and if I'm remembering right she hopped a plane and met her parents in Disney for a long weekend a few years ago, and with only a couple of days notice!

Now that she's living down in the south, (I need to check a map and see just how close she is to Jill), I think she will get to go a bunch more!

Good evening! I'm all caught up. Work...work...work is all I seem to do.

It's nice to have time to DIS. :)

 and more  for all the craziness at school.
I do wish for you to get back to a place where you don't have all this looming over you.
It would be an eye opener to step in someone else's shoes.
I know there are some jobs that I am just not cut out to do.
I often wonder if our teachers here in Canada are under the same stresses.

Loving the girls outfits...so cute!

Congrats to Bella for letting go of the paci. :thumbsup2

Reelmom I'm glad your pup is on the mend. What a scary thing.
Recently one of my furry babies went outside and never returned.
I'm holding onto the hope that "Simba" has been cat napped and is happy in his new home. He was a beautiful cat and so friendly.
Ironically he never showed any interest in going outside til that day.
But sadly, he was probably snatched by a coyote. :sad1:

Whew! All caught up. You can't slack off for a minute around here.

reelmom I was sorry to hear about your dog and happy to hear s/he's on the mend. I told my kids the story and they were quite alarmed.

MeMom I like you lemonade slushie tradition. Methinks we'll be copying that one the next time we're in the MK...which I hope won't be too far away.

DS is already planning a trip to Disneyland Tokyo. :rotfl2: I think he's aiming to hit them all!

Thought of you at work today MeMom - we got a million Christmas snowglobes in! ;)

Did I tell you that I didn't buy one on this trip? I bought Jim Shore figures instead!

Oh man the teacups. I don't think I could do those even if our cup wasn't spun at all! (and with a 0 minute wait!) I used to love them though!

Zero wait, very little spinning, and the girls loved it - works for me. :)

I pm'd you about sending you the cd.:)

Got it. Thank you. :goodvibes

Have a great day!

Ridiculous and stressful have been pretty common words in our vocabulary lately. ::yes:: We did get a small 'gift' yesterday when it was announced that two of the visits could be rolled into one. Each visit was set for looking for different things during the observation, but with the teachers and principals saying so much about the workload, it was noted that the atmosphere piece could be rolled into another observation time.

The naitional attention is causing other systems not to buy into this way of doing things, so hopefully that will make our people take a step back and re-evaluate the immensity of it all.

I am glad there are non-teachers who are willing to take the time to read about this.

I saw that on Facebook, Kelli. I really hope you get your issues solved so that you can have a pain-free life. You need to be healthy and at your best for that lovely crew of yours!

Going to catch up here today!

Always glad to have you check in. :surfweb:

We would welcome people from all walks of life to come into the classroom and spend some time. To really understand any job, you have to get in the trenches. I am a very patient person, so when I see people being impatient waiting in a line at a store or something, I always think maybe they should spend a day on the other side of the counter to see what it is like.

We would love to put the fun back into teaching again. I still sneak it in every once in a while. ;)

Just playing "catch up" again.:rolleyes:Been really busy(that's life for most people though isn't it!). Always need a little Disney fix to keep me going though. Pictures of Pop and the Magic Kingdom are always pleasing on the eye.:goodvibes. Glad to hear things have calmed down slightly for you at work.

Leaving? Where are you going now???
Oh yeah, that Boardwalk thing, isn't it? :)
Some people around here are just always going somewhere!

She's not in Kansas any more? :upsidedow
Maybe she can come to a southern DIS meet sometime. :dance3:

We won't think about that coyote thing too much. :sad1:

I'd love to hear how things are with teachers in Canada.

Glad you got in some DIS time. :thumbsup2

I will have to give the lemonade slushie credit to Brooklynn. She likes it layered, too - half lemonade and half berry. (I think it is raspberry.)

A world tour of Disney parks! Sounds like a grand plan! :woohoo:

Thought of you at work today MeMom - we got a million Christmas snowglobes in!

Did I tell you that I didn't buy one on this trip? I bought Jim Shore figures instead!

A million chambers of death for lots of cute little creature that abide inside of them???? :scared1:

Jim Shore has so many fun figures, and they all free to breathe crisp, clean air - not drown in water. :thumbsup2

More Magic Kingdom on the way. I'm liking seeing the warmth and sunshine in these pictures right now. :cool2: It's starting to be a little chilly when I leave in the mornings, and I know what they means. The worst is yet to come.

We were headed here, right?

Or is it beheaded???

Is a boat ride adventure enough for you?

DisneySummer20112ndset868.jpg

Thankfully, the menu at school is not like this.

DisneySummer20112ndset869.jpg

Thankfully, I don't eat the cafeteria food, just in case any of it is remotely related to that menu.

And I am making no bets that Friday's chicken is really truly chicken.

Wonder if my cat would like a little brother?

Bella looks a little concerned, but Brooklynn is more like, "I'm enjoying my lemonade. I've seen all of this before. The boat is not gonna tip and the elephants are not gonna spray. Next?"

DisneySummer20112ndset881.jpg

You know what this one is.

DisneySummer20112ndset882.jpg

If you don't, it sounds like

the slacktide of otter.

Yeah, when have you ever heard that term before? :upsidedow

Only here, people.
Only here. :sad2:

Run, abbyburchfield, run...before you get too involved here!

My hands are looking more and more like this elephant's skin all the time.

DisneySummer20112ndset883.jpg

Looks like a 'Here comes something exciting/spooky/cool' face.

DisneySummer20112ndset884.jpg

Luckily, we were not speared from below the waters, as these boats are in danger of,

DisneySummer20112ndset885.jpg

and we lived to tell about our latest amazing jungle adventure.

I kinda want to ride the teacups in January. I'd have to ride with Kailyn because there is no telling WHAT kind of spinning Mike or my dad would do!

I love Jungle Cruise. I definitely laugh at all the corny jokes!

Hahahaha... funny captions tonight! :lmao:
Brooklynn probably has the Jungle Cruise memorized word for word by now!

Love Jungle Cruise and I don't even remember a couple of the things in your post from the queues (I assume?). The menu and the kitten thing.

Love your humor in your writing. I know all about the slackside of otter!
