Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

Disney Store Grand Opening news....

I probably will get kicked out of DIS! I failed terribly today. The line was 200+ when we arrived, so no grand opening ears for us. (we actually were two too late). Then the line moved ever so slow, we did not hear the opening and worst part... we aborted the line and went to Vera Bradley instead. So tomorrow morning, take two we will try to go again. Maybe we can open the store instead tomorrow. Emily did win a key chain for the Disney trivia question the CM asked- what color is Belle's dress?

The whole time I thought what an idiot. I never am 200 back at any rope drop and never miss those, but missed this by a mile!

Oh darn!:headache: Better luck tomorrow!!!

Aww, Brooklynn's little face on soarin. It's full of anticipation and excitement. Love that ride. I have got the music as my ringtone on my mobile. Sometimes i leave it ringing for ages ,just so i can hear it! Great shopping pictures. Love the England hat with the cup of tea on. That's the one thing i miss when in Disney- a good strong cuppa! Wow, only 6 weeks until you and Brooklynn take of to the world again. You lucky people

I hear people complain about Disney coffee. I don't drink coffee, so I wouldn't know, but they say if you want a good cup, go over to Kona - just in case you didn't already know that.

I have a different ringtone for everyone. Jill is Small World, Trent is You've Got a Friend in Me, and Drew is I Wanna Be Like You. My generic tone is SpectroMagic. :wizard:

Bella is a smart girl...I'd want a MeMom party too! So cute she is so into Disney World...that's a proper upbringing, to be sure!

I have forgotten, does Brooklynn know you're going in Oct or is it a surprise?

Brooklynn does not know. We didn't want her to drive Jill crazy, at first, but then Jill decided that she was so busy these days with school and activities that she would not have time to worry about it. Poor girl falls asleep every time they get in the car now! However, we now have the new problem that Bella would not be happy with us if she knew we were going without her. Soooo, we're thinking John is going to keep her on the morning we leave, and we'll tell Brooklynn when we're on the way to the airport.

I have a feeling I am going to have to bring back a 'ho lotta' conosolation prizes for Bella to make her still like me! :rotfl:

From all of your party pics, I know I'd want a MeMom party too! Bella's a smart girl!!

It is kind of fun to think about where the little toys and stuffed animals are going to end up. How very Toy Story of you!

I really do think about those toys. I would love to be able tot rack all the countries they go to and see the kids take them home and share them with friends and family. I know some of them become very beloved friends.

So I'm thinking about a MeMom party...one activity would have to be Hidden MeMom pictures, right? Oh and early morning walks around Pop! This could be QUITE the party.

Wouldn't being at home be so nice if you had a Soarin' in your backyard? I really like that idea. I'd take Soarin and Philharmagic, thank you very much.

I love those World Showcase ears! So cute. I haven't seen them before.

If John got to get new tools in the process, he would be up for cutting out some whoppin' big bowling pins and yo-yo's, I know!

I youtube Soarin' sometimes. I love that ride!

I cannot wait to meet everyone on NYE! I so enjoy conversing on a daily basis. Anita, where are you staying?

Bella's idea for a Memom party is precious. She is so adorable. Great pictures today. I am at 22 days now and I get to be at my happy place!!!

You just got back from Hawaii and now you are leaving for Disney World. You sure know how to torture us!!!

Love Bella's idea of a MeMom party! Too cute.

Soarin is our all time favorite ride. Just love the smell of oranges as you fly over!

I was so excited that Mater and Lightening McQueen was still up when we were there! I know where you are headed next.......

Bella is just a silly little girl. I can't wait to see her and her kindergarten sister this weekend!

Did you see Cars 2 at the theater? We didn't, but I will buy it on DVD.

I love Soarin' also! It's a great ride. I like Nemo, too but we didn't ride it on our last trip.
Mouse Gear is a good store..it's one of the best stores in a park! And those chocolates are very cool..we got a few boxes last trip.

One could spend much time and much money in MouseGear. ::yes::

Too much money, probably. ;)

The cars flower display... we have a few pictures by that! And the pirate ship is Luke's favorite birthday gift... we brought it home and saved it! Off to the Disney store opening, will report back with my findings and maybe hijack with pictures!

I read about your Disney 'rope drop' on Facebook.

WIMP! :rotfl:

Did you take pictures for us? :flower3:

We have a big group with us through the 25th/ 29th so we are in a 2br at OKW and waitlisted on a grand villa. They fly home, then we move to POR. I just can't stand using those points for just the two of us over the weekend, with holiday rates being so expensive. We have also looked at Swan/Dolphin. We could switch... Marc and I fly out on January 2nd. Where will you be staying?

Your 22 days sounds much better than our 44 days on this girls trip, but with Marc in his post-op condition, we need this time for him to be able to do some lifting before I leave!

Sorry MeMom for the hijack!

Can I have a MeMom party too?

Hijack away. It is very acceptable here.

There will be no MeMom party.

Ever.

-Bella's "Baybing" Suit is too cute!
-What a great view!
-Hah! It's like a little mini Bella tugboat
-I am in love with the nerd pajamas!
-I am pretty sure that I want to try Garden Grill next trip. I had an ADR for it last trip but didn't end up needing it!
-Bella is just too precious! I love that she's trying to scope out the competition!
-I seriously love the land! It's my favorite ride at Epcot!
-I think you need to build a soarin simulator in your backyard! Did you see the video of the people who did? It was pretty darn cool!
-The Epcot Chef's Hat is really cool!
-Love the Car's mickey ears!
-Oh if only I had a little boy to put into those pajamas <3
-Neat name!

So much to love about Epcot shopping! They have so many unique things.

I did see the Soarin' video. Very cool. :thumbsup2

I think Bella is onto something; I'd like a MeMom party too!!! How fun!!

Wouldn't it be cool if we could have a group gathering sometime & celebrate all our Dis kids bdays? That would be a blast!!!

Your October trip is SO close!!! 6 weeks is no time at all!!

Katie S & I are going to Kansas City this weekend & meeting Jen & Anita for a day. Of course, we'll hit a Disney store and I bet some cute things will come home with us!!!

A big DIS kid birthday bash sounds like a magical plan. We're in! We had some pretty fun cupcake decorating going on by DIS kids in Atlanta a couple of years ago. A big birthday party would be too much fun!

Six weeks from Saturday. :dance3: :dance3:

You guys will have so much fun this weekend! And yes, we will definitely need pictures. ::yes::

Morning MeMom and Jill.

Trying to catch up and get our report started. Work keeps getting in the way.

DisneySummer20112ndset060.jpg

I love her squished smile! :cutie: And, I'm totally impressed at her water skills, Henry still won't do this. Though, we only go swimming at hotels--which is mostly our trips to Disney World...so he doesn't have a ton of water experience...and he's a slow-mover with stuff like this, he's not a brave one that just launches himself into things. I had to bribe him to go down the slides last summer even until he realized it IS fun, Mommy wasn't playing a trick on him!

PRETTY!!!! What a beautiful shot of a palm tree AND the fountain. :lovestruc

Hope you are having a terrific Thursday!

Bella is just a silly little girl. I can't wait to see her and her kindergarten sister this weekend!

Did you see Cars 2 at the theater? We didn't, but I will buy it on DVD.

:banana:You should have a great weekend!

Yes, we saw Cars 2 and actually really liked it. We took Jeremy on one of those rainy Florida afternoons this summer vacation to the AMC theater at DTD. He thought it was great he got to see the movie there. I told him to enjoy it as I will never pay that price again to watch a movie! :scared1:

Anita-We are staying at the Beach Club studio from 12/30-1/5 right now. I am waitlisted for 1/5-1/8. If I do not get anything I am going to just book another room. Maybe with AP discount if there is one.

MeMom- It does seem like I have been traveling a lot!! I told Jason that when I finished residency that I would take 4 vacations a year. That was my goal. I do not want a fancy house, fancy car, etc. I want to vacation!! Trust me, I had many years of working my tail off. I would dream of my four vacations a year while I was working 30 hours in a row in the ICU every 4th day.:rotfl:

Those candy boxes make my day better everytime I see them! If they are inexpensive then I will buy them all just for the boxes! Especially the monorail one and the Mickey Mouse Club one! Love them!:thumbsup2

Anita - I'm glad to hear that Marc made out ok. Best wishes for a speedy recovery:hug:

Glad to hear you're getting a new teacher! I haven't been here the last couple of day because we didn't :sad2: Two weeks after school started and we have to move a bunch of kids to meet the class size reduction guidelines. We now have a K-1 combo, 1-2 combo and a 3-4 combo. We have 3 spots lefts in our 4th grade and we will be over again :rolleyes1 It's a scheduling nightmare! Any way, I am so going to enjoy this upcoming trip! I just have to remember to turn off my cell phone so my boss can't call me while I'm gone!

I am so ready to soar over CA! We're going with 8 people (5 adults and 3 kids) who have never been to Disney World! I can't wait to see how they like it!

I'm doing a little woot woot dance for this weekend!!! Do you think we could get some stranger to take a picture of us to be posted here? You know MeMom will request one.....

What makes you think that? :upsidedow
I am happy you guys are getting together. Wish we could be there.

I would looooooove to have a Soarin' in my backyard! It would make everything so much easier, knowing I had that to come home to!

Yes, it would. I'd probably fall asleep in it a few times, as much as I have been working lately.

I love going on Disney Shopping trips with you Memom. It is fun and it doesn't cost me anything. That is the only type of shopping I can afford right now.

Me, too! I hope I have the money I need to pay for the Christmas trip, or I may be watching the NYE stuff on the webcam.

I've been quietly reading and lurking, as usual, but I wanted to share... I realized the other day that September (tomorrow in fact!) will be a year since we were at WDW, and I just wanted to cry. I thought about it all day, and then called my mom who said she'd been thinking the same thing all day.

A few minutes later, we'd planned a quick five day trip in January over MLKJr Day. :woohoo: Mom, the kids, and myself at the Royal Plaza with the Mousesavers discount. Mom can get military passes, and we're going to be extra frugal. And no school missed!

All things are better when you know when your next trip is going to be, isn't it? Not having that on the horizon is so hard to handle. :goodvibes

Nothing better to dry those eyes than the thought of a new Disney trip! :cool1:

I love that Bella wanted a MeMom party! She obviously has good taste.

You're as silly as Bella!

MeMom, did you ever see this video? When you said Soarin' in your backyard I immediately thought of this. It's pretty amazing :thumbsup2

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTzMQAVWxpI

Yep, we've seen it. They really put the work into that!

I wish I was making a RSVP for the NYE Poly Party. If I'm home that night (more than likely I will be) I'll be watching via the webcam.

I will be, too, if I don't start setting some money aside. :scared1:

Why can't I be a kid again so Christmas would seem like forever away? Then I'd have more time to save more. ;)

HI MeMom! I need to go back and get caught up. I've been busy as you know since Kristen and Chris were here. Now that they went home, I've been sad. :guilty:

I know you guys enjoyed being together. The tractor pictures were great. The guys seemed to be having much fun!

I just love all the 2011 merchandise, the style they picked for it all is just so cool! Much better than in past years. The Mater Ears are pretty awesome too.

Haha @ the whole MeMom and Memo party thing, smart move Bella :thumbsup2

That would be totally awesome :cloud9:

I've never been able to sit up front, so I've grown accustomed to the dangling feet and it kinda adds to the whole Soarin' experience for me :confused3 So yeah, they are kinda neat.

I just love those candy bars, they have the best sayings on them ever

"Please stand clear of my... Chocolate!"

:rotfl:

Can't wait to read more!

You can ask to wait for the front row. It is cool to see it with no dangling legs, for sure, but I don't really pay much attention to them, to be honest.

That's pretty awesome, right there. Very creative

You could make a backyard project of creating a monorail system or some cool park ride, couldn't you? :goodvibes

We've been so sad too

Just getting caught up too. School starts next week for me and for tinkgurl too. I hope it doesn't cut into my DIS time too much!

School has cut way into my DIS time. Into my life period. This week I have worked two 12 hour days and a 10 hour day. I'm ready for Friday.

Brooklyn was too cute on Soarin'. She looked so excited to get going! It's definitely one of my favorite rides. I don't mind dangling feet either. I just like being on the ride.

Me, too. I don't pay that much attention, but the feet seem to upset some people.

I bet we could find a kind someone to take our picture!

That sounds like a good plan for Marc. The remote, take out menus & he'll be fine. I'm glad to hear his surgery went well!!

I am sure you wild girls can find someone to take your picture. How about a Disney Store CM? :thumbsup2

You may get to see the front side of him too!!! Can't promise he will come to the beach but I sure somewhere somehow it an happen.

If it happens I am sure Chris would be game.

He will see that there are more people who have the same Disney views as mom. Deep down he is grateful for all the trips he has had so far, and the inside tips I have been able to give him.

I saw the soarin' video and then I watch the part 2 Illuminations /Mexico one and I was amazed at what he could do in his backyard. Brought tears to my eyes.

I had to go back and watch Part 2, too.

I loved this! So cool!!! :thumbsup2

I'm sure you could get your husband to build you something similar. :)

Yay for Em!!! :dance3: Way to go, Disney girl!

You can send Disney Store pictures throughout the month of September, if you'd like, as we wait for our October trip. ;)

I've already called you a wimp for backing out on that line. Why didn't you get a Fastpass? :)

Morning MeMom and Jill.

Trying to catch up and get our report started. Work keeps getting in the way.

We know that feeling. We'll be happy to get trip pictures and stories whenever you get to them.

I love her squished smile! And, I'm totally impressed at her water skills, Henry still won't do this. Hope you are having a terrific Thursday!

Henry needs to hang out with Bella for a little while. She'd have him splashing around in no time!

The area around that fountain is so cool. It has a 'vibe' all it's own.

:banana:You should have a great weekend!

How much was the movie? Movies are ridiculousl even out here in real world. The snacks prices are sinful!

Anita-We are staying at the Beach Club studio from 12/30-1/5 right now. I am waitlisted for 1/5-1/8. If I do not get anything I am going to just book another room. Maybe with AP discount if there is one.

Definitely no fancy stuff for us, either. We spend our money on Disney trips.

Anita - I'm glad to hear that Marc made out ok. Best wishes for a speedy recovery:hug:

I think they were $3-4 dollars.

Glad to hear you're getting a new teacher! That will be so fun to go with people who have never been. They will probably be overwhelmed!

We are getting our teacher next week. it was supposed to be Tuesday, but she decided to add two days to her Labor Day break, so she's starting Thursday.

Another Dis kid I can show the wonders of the water. I would love to have some swim lesson in Distown.

I have a different ringtone for everyone. Jill is Small World, Trent is You've Got a Friend in Me, and Drew is I Wanna Be Like You. My generic tone is SpectroMagic. :wizard:

Chris has Sharkbait ohh haha DD has Just keep swimming my generic is the tumble monkeys. :lmao: My friends have their own too but some are non Disney due to some travelling memories we have had.

I went back today for our redo. Em did not speak up enough to do the opening ceremony... next time! We did however enjoy. I will try to upload pics this weekend, too tired tonight. We came home with the cutest Captain Hook I have ever seen, who wore it all day and night ( I did make him take it off to go to soccer games tonight, with a 100 degree temp it would have been too much). The store is nice, and it really did brighten my Thursday. It has been a few years since we had one close, so I am so happy to have one at my favorite mall now!

Bella would be first in line for a DIStown swim class!

I don't have a special ring for any of my friends - just my kids. I get to hear It's a Small World every morning a few minutes after 6. Jill calls when she's in the car on her way to work. I get to hear little girl chatter and songs from the back seat. I get a lot of smiles and laughter from those calls. :lovestruc

You give me a slight bit of hope that we might get a store back someday.

I look forward to seeing Captain Hook. I know he was a cutie!

******************************************

Happy Friday, everyone!
This is has been a week with some long days in it. Two 12 hour days and one 10 hour day at work have made me ready for this weekend. I have to go to a funeral home for a visitation after school today, and after that, I am coming home to crash. I plan to have a big bowl of ice cream for my dinner, and then I'm hanging out with the laptop and HGTV for the evening. That's as exciting as it gets, but I'm pretty psyched about it. :) You guys have a great day and a safe and fun and hopefully long weekend! :cool1:

Happy Friday, MeMom!!

I hope you enjoy your HGTV tonight, I'm recording all the House Hunters International episodes tonight since I'm off to my inlaws for dinner. I can't get enough of that show!

Happy Friday, MeMom and Jill!

Sounds like a long week for you, MeMom. Mine hasn't been quite as long but I have to work a half day tomorrow :( Today is Chris' mom's 50th birthday so we are going out tonight. Honestly though, nights like you are going to have are more my speed!! Enjoy it!

I get pretty psyched about those kinds of evenings myself! :thumbsup2 We're not boring... we just appreciate the small joys of life! :)

Laptop and HGTV sounds wonderful (That is what I am very happy with right now!!!)

I have to go back and reread- I missed the explanation of a Memom party- but I really think it is a great idea...celebrate Memom!!!

I am hoping that next week is easier for you (and all teachers) Memom! Did you start your second job?

Six weeks until Disney! :yay::woohoo::yay:

Happy Friday!

Your evening sounds wonderful!
I recorded a couple House Hunters Vacation Homes episodes this week that I havn't gotten a chance to see.
3 night shifts in a row.
I will have time soon...cause I get Sun, Mon & Tues off! :cool1:

Yesterday morning before work I organized my travel book...printed out the car rental, Seaworld and Flight stuff.
We got Mickey mail! Our first ME tags!!! :thumbsup2

It's very new worrying about how heavy the suitcases are and choosing what to bring and not bring.
When we travel by car it doesn't matter.

Wig'd I'm glad Mark's surgery went well. I'm sure he will be quite happy to be loved on by the girls with remote in hand.
He needs to get a good "t.v. season" or "series" on DVD that he has never had the time to watch.

Ahhh...LOVE Soarin!!!! Oranges and Pine...ocean breezes...watch out for the golf ball! :goodvibes

I wish I could have a room in my house that was full of Disney plush that I could go hang out in.
My happy place when life get's to me. :)

I've never seen those Mickey ears from different countries before. Very neat!

Mousegears is where I usually spend the most money and World of Disney too!
I just read that AP holders get a discount at WoD!!!! :woohoo:
I hope I can find a Dooney & Bourke bag with good placement there....cause I have my suspicions (Lexi told me) that I may be getting one of those bags for my birthday...:love2: Love my DMom!!!

Shhhh! It's a secret. Don't worry, I will act surprized. :rotfl:

I think this morning before work I will go tackle cleaning out the fridge..."oh joy, oh bliss" as they say.

I wish I could have a Memom party too!

Enjoy the weekend all! :flower3:
