Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

Congrats to Brooklynn for loosing her first tooth! Maybe she'll loose the next one at Disney.

Thanks for sharing F! with us. My favorite part is the boats too.

That boat full of characters waving and smiling is an awesome ending to a Disney day!

I love rolling coins for my Disney trips. I think counting the money I've saved is part of the fun of going to Disney.

Yep. Jill rolls hers right before every trip. :thumbsup2

Yes it does!DH thought I was crazy when I started rolling all of it until I texted him how much we had.

I'm hoping to do a BIG trip next year for DD 3rd birthday. That's why I chose value this time around. I know that trip will not be cheap. Plus I really think DS will enjoy it.

Another coin collector! Yay! It all adds up to fun, no matter how small it starts out.

Yeah, I'm sure he didn't think you were crazy when you told him the total!

We roll coins here too. We have a big ol' can full of our spare change that we collect all year long. We roll and deposit periodically (into the vacation savings account) but I have to say, we've never saved up quite that much money in spare change. I think three to four hundred dollars is our maximum amount.

We also have a separate glass jar where we keep our American money. Any time we get an American dime or quarter when out shopping, we separate it out and put it in the Disney jar. This jar is Disney specific whereas the Canadian change jar is just for vacation money in general. We're lucky to get twenty to thirty dollars in American currency for each trip, but it all adds up. We like to use it for highway tolls!

Oh well! At least I have you guys and your TR's to live off of until then!!

We'll do our best to keep you going. :wizard:

MeMom, we sure felt special staying deluxe, too. Of course it would be easy to get used to that, but I'm with you: I'd much rather go more often by staying value sometimes. DD, however, is scheming a big splurge trip. She wants us to stay at AKL for a whole week! She looooves animals & is enthralled with the notion of waking up to giraffes right outside our window. Not coincidental, I think, that AKL has some of our favorite restaurants, too. And no way she'll do a split stay to make this dream trip less spendy & thus doable sooner. She'd rather we skip WDW "for a year or two" to save up enough for her perfect trip. The kid knows what she wants! I just hope she's not too disappointed with the surprise week at Pop next month!

Stayhomemom77, good luck on your impending move! If you do end up heading to gorgeous BC, think about using some of your vacay funds to play tourist in your new area. Exploring your new town & vicinity can be great fun, & the familiarity you gain can help you feel at home sooner. Bet you even spot a Hidden Mickey the first week!

We loved the deluxes we've stayed at. It would be very easy to get used to that! It made us just want to hang around the resort more and not rush off to the parks so much. They are beautiful places just to hang out on the balconies and relax and talk.

They always looks so funny when those big old permanent teeth come in The kids around here all wait until they're at school and try to get them out so they can come up to the clinic and get one of those nifty plastic teeth necklaces we give them. Sometimes they're not near ready to come out and they end up coming up because they hurt so bad from all the wiggling they're doing And when they start bleeding and they're up there in hysterics, like Brooklynn! The red washcloth is an excellent idea!! They do OK till they see the blood

So all you Tennessee folks, what do you know about Wilderness in the Smokies? I think it's near Pigeon Forge maybe?! We're having a family reunion there next year and I was wondering if anyone has any opinions about the place.

I have heard good things about that place. A few people from church have been.

I don't pull teeth. I tell my students I can handle broken bones and blood, but I don't do teeth!

I just love love love your pictures of Fantasmic!! I saw it again this last trip and just fell in love all over again!!!!

YAY for Brooklynn losing her first tooth!! How very very exciting!!!

Well spent all day in meetings so I'm ready to just relax!! Catching up with your TR was just the way to do it!!!!

I don't save coins, but I'm going to be doing a lot of extra tutoring (Thursdays and every other Saturday) and that all goes to the vacation fund LOL!!!!!

Hope you are having a great week!!! I'm counting down the days until I can finally meet you in person!!! I'm so excited!

Hope Brooklynn had a great first day at School!!!!!

We had a half day of meetings and a half day in our rooms today.

Ooops I take that back...I am saving a few coins!! A certain visit to a certain fountain at a certain resort for a very certain reason has to be made next trip

Well, that should turn out to give you a lifetime of fun ahead! :cheer2:

My Disney touch this year in my classroom is Finding Nemo. Here's the way things look at this point. I have a Crush and little turtles window to finish, but other than that, I'm done.

Here's the bulletin board out in the hall.

Please humor me and say the stuff at the bottom looks like coral. ;)

This will hang up and to the right of it tomorrow.

Your room looks FANTASTIC!!! WOW WOW WOW!! I want to come to your 2nd grade class!!! Everything looks so fun and colorful!!!

GREAT JOB!!! It all really looks so GOOD!!!

What a great job A +++++ all the way.

I hope your students and their parents enjoy the room and appreciate the effort you put in to making your room a safe, fun, learning place. :thumbsup2

ETA: Oh yes the coral at the bottom looks like coral.

Your classroom looks fantastic, MeMom! I wish you were my teacher. I just need a time machine... hahahaha And yes the stuff at the bottom does look like Coral :thumbsup2 And I love how you added Mickey into the decor :goodvibes There needs to be more Disney-obsessed teachers in society ::yes::

I just called David in here so I could show him this! We both agree we wish we could be in your class!! Is there an age limit for 2nd grade? haha!

Oh my gosh, I LOVE your classroom! You did such a great job, it's so colorful and welcoming. I would have loved to be in a classroom like that back when I was in second grade!

I'm rolling change, too. Right now it's spending money for whenever I get to go to NC to visit Katie. My dad loves saving up his change, too. Last Christmas, Kailyn gave him one of those jars that adds up how much you have in there every time you put something in, and he loves it. Probably one of the best things one of us has ever given him.

Love the classroom! Everything looks fantastic! I love the dock and the seagulls. And, yes, the coral looks like coral.

Congrats to Brooklyn on getting a visit from the Tooth Fairy! Love all the Fantasmic Photos. Hubby's never seen Fantasmic, but he plans to this trip. The girls and I love it.

Your classroom is adorable! My favorite is Dory! She's my screensaver at work. She just makes me smile when I see her. I'm with everyone else. Sure would have liked to have had a classroom like that when I was growing up.

Oh my! :scared1:

Love the Fantasmic pics. We have never seen it but are looking forward to it in Sept.

We had three Disney Stores just a few years ago, and one by one, they took them all away. :sad2:

I think you will enjoy Fantasmic. :wizard:

I think the kids will like it, but mostly it will transport me to Epcot whenever I need it to.

I had to get Mickey in there. :thumbsup2

You and David can come for a visit any time. ::yes:: Second-graders always love to have company in the classroom. You will be their 'best friends ever' before you leave. Everyboy always is.

I really do have to meet your dad sometime. Any time you guys drive through Nashville, let us know and we'll meet you at a Cracker Barrel. :thumbsup2

Love the classroom! Everything looks fantastic! I love the dock and the seagulls. And, yes, the coral looks like coral.

Yay for the coral. I looked at pictures of Nemo's Reef on the Dream and kind of copied some of those with what materials I had at hand.

I have to give credit to nowellsl and DWGal210 for their contributions to my room. Stephanie sent a bunch of beanie babies, and Katie sent a book, which is by my Nemo bucket (and both of those got overlooked in the picture-taking session) some stickers, which the kids will love, and a set of CD's with Disney stories, one of which is Nemo. I thank them both for their kindness! DIS friends are incredible!!!

Wow, MeMom, what an awesome classroom! Such creativity! I wish you had been MY 2nd grade teacher, maybe I would have gotten into Disney at an earlier age than 21 :headache::laughing:

That is one thing I will miss out on as a middle/high school teacher, being able to decorate my room with a Disney theme or throwing Disney touches into lessons. Most 16 year olds are wayyyyy too cool for Disney  I hope my children are fortunate enough to get a teacher like you :thumbsup2

So I have finally gotten a minute to add my pics from day one!

I wish my family in Ohio was closer to Nashville because you really do! Christine and probably Katie can vouch for the fact that he really is as crazy as I say he is! Christine got to hang out with us in AK and watch my dad grabbing things on the wall in the EE queue, and ride Primeval Whirl with us. When we got to meet up with Katie and Patrick for a quick dinner at Cracker Barrel last summer, he was doing his version of a word search (not going in straight lines but ALL over the page to make words that weren't really words), and commenting how tricky it was. We're leaving for Ohio next Friday and renting a van since Mike is coming this year, and five of us in a five person car plus luggage for 12+ hours wouldn't be pretty. ;) I'm being put on there as a driver so I can help out, and every time I've taken over the driving in the past, my dad climbs in the back, making it a point to sit behind me, and just goes nuts! He'll grab my seat, shake it, make faces at me in the mirror, ask if we're there yet, put his legs up on either side of me...that goes on for anywhere from 5-10 minutes and then all of a sudden, he's passed out, snoring. My mom commented once that he is like a little kid that just wears himself out and it's SO TRUE! :rotfl:

Waiting for Fantasmic!

MeMom,

Okay, the stuff on the bottom totally looks like coral. :thumbsup2

Can I just say that if I was one of your students, you would have been my favorite teacher! BEST......CLASSROOM.....EVER!

Wow, MeMom! Your classroom looks amazing! My favorite part? The whole dock area with the seagulls. That background with the clouds just makes it look so good!

I wish I had you as a teacher! :teacher:

I think I'd be willing to repeat the second grade if I got to come to MeMom's classroom and have her for my teacher!

Great pics Jill! You're girls are just the cutest things!

Thanks MeMom for sharing your classroom pics - it looks great! My favourite part was the area with the seagulls - anytime things are getting rough in the classroom just pause for a minute and imagine walking into the Living Seas :)

At the moment I'm home with the girls full time and just teaching one afternoon (music lessons at DDs school) and don't miss the job but seeing your classroom prep reminded me that this time of the year could be a pleasure - having fun fixing up the classroom. In fact I have just been tidying (ready to move house) and found a fabulous Disney A-Z I used to have in the classroom that I'd forgotten I had - and now I can put it up somewhere at home for Alice :thumbsup2

Jill - lovely pics of the girls as always :goodvibes but the one of Bella edging away from Tigger might just be my favourite :rotfl:
