Ok... Standing in 2 hr wait line for mine train. Hope it's worth it!!! I know it will be!!!

Right behind you. Line moves pretty fast. Advantage of not having any fastpass. After an excellent star wars weekend dat (visit the special shows!) its the perfect Disney day!

It isn't I rode it around 4am I wasn't impressed the animatronics were good that's about it

I disagree completely. I thought the ride was wonderful. 3 good drops, lots of slicing through the hills, the dark scene is awesome, hi ho as you go up the lift hill is perfect, surprise at end is boss.

3 good drops

Glad you liked it! We are excited to try it, but I need to know about these 3 good drops. Straight down? Long? We thought it was going to be a rather tame ride....

Only really in the back row and nothing really prolonged. They're maybe 20-30 foot drops. Nothing worse than space mountain.

My dad has neck and back problems, and he avoids Space Mountain and Big Thunder for this reason. He has told my mother that he wants to try to ride the mine train this summer because he doesn't want to miss out when the rest of us ride.

I'm worried about him riding, and being hurt for the rest of the trip. Is this ride as jerky as Space or Big Thunder? Should I insist that he avoid it?

no its very smooth and not really that fast but it does sway back and forth a little

Thanks!

My dad's watched some videos, and he thought it seemed smooth enough to ride. He just can't do anything that takes away his ability to control his head. He can do smooth, but not jerky. Space and BTMR throw him around too much.

I think I'll get everyone a FP+ and have him watch the ride in person before deciding. I say that like it'll be so easy to get FP+ for it. :rotfl2: I'll be waking up at the crack of dawn to make FP+ reservations.

:goodvibes

I got to ride the Mine Train at about 5:00 am this morning. The wait said 75minutes, and it took 50, the line moved pretty fast since fast pass is not yet involved. I enjoyed the ride, its extremely smooth!!

I've just booked my FP+ for June, sounds like I was right to even though FP is a new thing completely for me and I was just going to wing it like back in the old days!

Loved it - very smooth ride. Great addition to the park. Rode it twice on Friday - first time was 35 minutes and the second 40 minutes. Rode Sunday night just after it re-opened from the rain storm - maybe 25 minutes. They did hand out fast passes to those who were in line from the storm.

The entire ride is very well done.

Got lucky and rode it on Sunday night for the first time. I guess technically it was Monday morning as it was after midnight. The CM's said it was a 70 minute wait, but it was really only about 35 minutes. It was fun seeing the different interactive things they had in the line which you would probably miss with a fast pass. We got a bonus and were put in the first row. Loved the ride! There were extra magical hours that morning from 1am-3am and I noticed the ride was still open at 1am and that they were scanning magic bands to make sure riders were staying at Disney Resorts before letting them in the line. It was really pretty seeing it at night and much cooler, too. If you are able to book fast passes, I would do it for the night time.
