Mine train FP question

We have 8 fast passes for Mine Train for 4:50, but we have tickets to Mickey's Backyard BBQ for dinner at 5:30. I am pretty sure it's impossible to make both. We are also a party of 10, but could not get the last 2 fast passes, because 2 people in our party arrive a day later than the rest of us. Should we just let the fast passes go and know that there's no chance we could probably use them, or is there any way Disney can give us some sort of Pixie Dust to move them back a few minutes & some how add the last 2 people to our fast pass party?

You have to walk down Main St to exit MK. Then, You might have to wait 20 minutes for your 15 minute boat ride to Wilderness for the BBQ. This timing does not work.
You’ll have to decide on one or the other. You can’t count on pixie dust for this one.

You can always print out a copy of the dinner reservation and show them the FP at the entrance 30 minutes early. No guarantee they'll do it but can't hurt asking. I don't know if I'd push it however by asking for 30 minutes early AND 2 extra people . . . . I think you'd be far more likely for them to allow you in early than to allow extra people in.

Have the party of 2 keep trying for their own FP a little earlier & keep trying to modify the FP the 8 have for a little earlier. Both of these will be much easier the evening before or morning of the BBQ, there us a lot of FP shuffling during that time frame & many are releasing afternoon FP as they grab morning FP times. You will likely find an overlap time you can go together and be going much earlier in the day.

You can "legally" enter the FP+ queue 5 minutes before your scheduled window. I'm not sure how much authority the CM at the queue will have to allow you in any earlier than that, because you have two scanning checkpoints on that ride. If CM at checkpoint 1 lets you in earlier, I'm not sure how they'd communicate that to the CM at checkpoint 2.

I would plan to miss this FP to be on time for the BBQ, but during the day of, definitely try refreshing for an earlier time. Might be tough with a group that big, but easy enough to try throughout the day.

Which one is more important to you?

If it's the 7DMT FPs know that the two who don't presently have FPs won't enter with you (I personally wouldn't even ask the CM about letting 2 people in without FPs) unless they are able to get FPs for 7DMT that overlap yours at some point in the hour FPs are for. OR looking at moving around to an earlier FP time AND getting FPs for the 2 that don't have them that overlap your new FP time but with it being 7DMT that might be difficult (but still worth a shot IMO).

If it's Mickey's Backyard BBQ I would switch the 7DMT FPs for a different attraction (and for an earlier time) thus allowing someone else the opportunity for those FPs for 7DMT.

I wouldn't even attempt to do both.

Oh, please don’t do this. These poor cast members do not make enough money to be subjected to sob stories every day from people who willingly and knowingly overschedule themselves and then ask for preferential treatment.

As others have said, keep checking to see if you can move the FPs earlier in the day. They do become available.
If you can't do that, then you are correct, I don't see anyway to do both. Even if you got off BTMRR by 5, it would take at least 10-15 minutes to get out the front gate. Even if the bus i right there ready to go, it would be very tight to get to your ADR by 5:30. Just too many ways for it not to work.
Assuming the ADR is more important, keep trying to move the FPs, but if you can't, modify them to something different you can do and release them for someone else to use.

And you actually will want to show up a little early to MBBQ from what I read, those who get there early get the best seats as the tables are long ways and it gets hectic w/ the characters and buffett lines as well.
