~*~ Mindyjoy's May 19 2012 Disneyland Wedding TR ~*~ Trip Report Has Begun!

I'm a day late, but we are at the 9 month mark! :scared1:

Here is what I've done in the last 30 days:

- Printed the envelopes and mailed out the STDs!
- Booked our ceremony music (harpist)
- Found an officiant (Tim's friend)
- Made a ton of fabric flowers
- Made a mock-up of my ribbon veil
- Met with seamstress and found out she can do all the alterations I am dreaming of (for a price, lol)
- Bought little signs for the welcome/cake/whatever tables
- Scheduled the Planning Session!

I feel like I've been a bit of a wedding slacker this month. :( The STDs were such a huge undertaking that it feels good to take a little "break."

I also did a few NWR (non-wedding related) things this month. I got my blog up and running, which is something I have been wanting to do for a while. So that's been a bit of a time-suck as I tweak it and try to get caught up on my posts.

I also met with an ENT doc which I have been putting off for a looooong time. I have had major sinus problems for years, but I had a prolonged sinus infection last month that finally made me set an appointment. I went in yesterday and found out I have a deviated septum. The doc doesn't think it's the cause of all my problems but a major factor. He also gave me a new nasal spray to try, which is working nicely so far. I have an appointment for a CT scan next Tuesday to see just how deviated my septum is and if I'm a candidate for surgical correction.

I'm so jealous of all the people at D23 this weekend; I am thinking about going just for tomorrow!

Love the erase board! What a great idea! Also reminds me of how much I have left to do for next November.:scared1:

Ribbon veil is awesome! And love the pink tulle for under the dress!

Hi everyone!

For those of you interested, I put a mini D23 Expo recap up on my blog: http://budgetfairytale.blogspot.com/2011/08/nwr-my-d23-expo-2011-recap.html

I only went for one day, and my recap is mostly pictures of things I thought were cool. I hope you enjoy!

Yesterday I pulled out my dress so revisit my pink tulle conundrum, and after comparing both kinds of tulle to the dress, the decision was clear: SHINY!!!!!

They both look fine but I love how the shiny kind sparkles in the picture. I can't resist having a bit of pixie dust.

You would! :P :tink:

Yuppers, I'm sure we've all realized by now I'm obsessed with anything sparkley or glittery! Dave get's so annoyed shopping with me, I dsiappear to the slightest little glimmer out of the corner of my eye. I was MEANT to be Tinkerbell in another life. :rolleyes1

I agree with your choice as well. I love the shiny tulle looks against the dress.

I feel bad, because apparently I missed your last post! I love the sparkly pink tulle! It's perfect for your dress!!! :lovestruc

Also, I just checked out your blog post about the D23 expo...OH MAN I'M SO JEALOUS OF YOUR MULAN SWAG.
I heard they made mugs, but I had no idea they made a journal too  I have to get the designer doll to add to my collection. I'm so happy she's on merchandise again. :yay:

It looks even better in person. :lovestruc

I was FREAKING OUT because I never see Mulan stuff. The journal is my favorite item. I even got a call from Chase afterwards due to "unusually high usage of my credit card."

Ack! I seemed to have missed an update too!

Mindy, I simply adore that pink tulle. It's so glittery and shiny. :D :D And I love your whiteboard idea! I kind of have the same thing in my house--- I have the Wishes wedding checklist next to a Perry the Platypus board. :lmao:

And... EEEKKK ALL THAT DISNEY PRINCESS STUFF!!!! Do you know if all of the designer collection is coming to the disney stores? That Mulan journal is gorgeous, but I need to get my hands on all of the Belle stuff!

oooh! I so need/want the Belle items too! Do you know if the items are only going to the Disney store, or if they'll be going to Disney World too?

YES, it will be available at Disney Stores and online, too! The dolls are limited edition but all the other stuff should be around for a while, based on my understanding.

Disney Stores only; they will not be available at the parks or at World of Disney stores. :(

Good choice on the tulle! And I love your recap and pics from the expo. I actually like the designer artwork of the princesses - like, the mugs and journals and stuff - better than the dolls! I saw all this stuff at my Disney Store, very exciting!

Hello everyone!

I need help .... I am having a jewelry crisis.

So last night I was looking through a past issue of Brides Magazine and I found this necklace.

ombre%252520necklace.JPG

I fell in love instantly. It's $350 which is a lot for a necklace but I really really love it. I'm not sure if I have talked about it in this PJ but I love ombre and I want to incorporate some ombre elements into the wedding decor. (I recently wrote about it in my blog here: http://budgetfairytale.blogspot.com/2011/08/whats-up-ombre.html

The necklace is swarovski so after work today I went to our local mall where there is a swarovski store. Unfortunately THEY DID NOT HAVE IT. They had a black/white one and the sales lady told me she thinks the pink one is discontinued.

I left the store and went to Bloomingdales because I have a gift card and thought I would check out their jewelry. Maybe they would have a similar looking necklace?

I didn't find anything ombre but I found this Betsey Johnson necklace that I really love!

It was only $45 so I bought it with my gift card! So now it's mine!

I totally love it but while wearing it tonight I found that the center strand doesn't lay flat, so you can't see the crystals. :( So I'm thinking about removing that strand? My only concern about this necklace is I'm wondering if it's too "young?" Like, will I look back on my photos in 20 years and regret wearing something like this, verses something more classic and simple? I really love this necklace though and it's really "me."

I also need to find a pair of matching earrings. I found matching earrings on Lord and Taylor.

But I also found these earrings on the Betsey Johnson website.

Which earrings do you guys like best?

When I came home I searched and searched and searched the interwebs for that Swarovski necklace and I can't find it anywhere. :( You would think there would be some knockoffs on ebay or something?? :confused3 I'm so bummed.

I love the necklace and I love the Lord and Taylor earrings. I don't think that this is too young at all. It is a shame that the crystals won't lie flat as I think that it needs the third strand for the overall effect.

When browsing, I came across this little beauty, which is again Swarovski and therefore pricey:

I also found this on Ebay, which is an absolute bargain:

OMG, I didn't know you met Mr. Tutera!!! :scared1: so amazing! Oh and congratz on the DWB nod, your pictures are amazing!

So I love Miss Betsey, but I don't feel like that's a 'wedding necklace?' Maybe we can make it a bit more grown up?? Hm. I'm going to go on a search for you and see what I can find. I love love love that first one! I may venture to the mall later or tomorrow and I'll see if I can find it. There's also a Swarovski outlet near my house, if you get me the style number I can call them and see if they have it???

I'm so sorry mama. But I LOVE that first one Corinna posted. I vote for it. It's Swarovski so it's pricey, but nobody can match their sparkle!

Mindy sweetie - I love the first necklace so much, but it is very pricey (and, sadly out of stock). I also love the one you bought, but agree with Corinna that it may look strange without the centre strand. It is difficult to know what to do for the best isn't it??
