Long time lurker, first time to post. I love this place! We will be leaving for the Fort on 4/26 arriving on 4/27. I have plans to stop at the KOA in Milton Fl, just outside of Pensacola. Anyone stayed there before? I am suspecting it will be dark by the time we get there so I'm kinda interested in how easy it is to manuver through the park. We will be getting up early on the 27th to head on down to FW.

I've been in grad school for the past 3 years and it's been since 2001 since me and DW have been to WDW. We leave in 2 weeks and it's starting to get exciting around here :woohoo:

Thanks for all of the great advice I've read on here.

We stayed there on our way back from the Fort in June. It is very easy to maneuver through the park. I didn't have any problems at all. It is fairly close to the freeway, but I don't remember that bothering me at all.

We've stayed at the Milton KOA and the Tallahassee East KOA and prefer the one in Milton. We will stop there on our way in December. It's easy access and when we went, the sites were all pull through and seemed to be more overnight travelers.

Our last trip, we pushed to the Tallahassee East KOA. It was nice being that much closer to WDW but after 11PM, it seems forever to go from Pensacola to Tallahassee. It was a little confusing to get to and the park seemed to have many fulltimers. We arrived at 12:30 AM and both RVs were sandwiched and I mean sandwiched between fulltime RVs. It was OK but we won't do that again.

On our June trip on the way down we stayed at the Chattahoochee KOA. It's about 130miles further east. It's further off the highway and a bit more wooded than Milton. The sites there are angled pull-thru so that are easy to get in. I had tire problems on the way down so we didn't actually get in until 2am an I had no problems getting in the site.

We've stayed at the Milton KOA several times now and it is perfect for what we need....just an overnight stay on the way to WDW. As has been stated, most (if not all) of the sites are pull through and very easy to access. They even provide a continental breakfast in the morning. It's nothing special but it gives us a quick start to the morning and we're on our way to FW. One thing to watch out for....a few of the sites are a little lower than others. Normally, this doesn't cause us any problems so we never even noticed it. But on our last trip, during the night the skies opened up and it poured all night. The next morning, we stepped out of the camper and down into 4 inches of water. Our door mat had floated away. It certainly made breaking camp and heading out more difficult. This was the only time we had any kind of problem. We had never noticed that any sites were lower than others, but that morning we definitely noticed. Almost every other site was high and dry. We had one of the only drowned campsites.:)

Howdee Photobug, neighbor. We live just an hour west from you on I 20, in Longview, Tx. I stayed in the Milton KOA on the way down one time. It was perfect, right next to I 10, easy in and out. We now drive all the way, my new son-in-law helps me drive. If I did stop it would be at the Miton KOA. Have a great trip!

We stayed here many times. Easy pull through. The sites are long so you won't even need to unhook, unless you have to. Comfort stations good, and they do have the free continental breakfast, enough to get you started in the morning. Fuel available also at this exit, near the waffle house, just be careful as they have off the road and on road diesel(trucks use these pumps too) so you could have a wait. They were doing construction at this ramp as through most of Pensacola...this was last summer so they should be done...but just be aware/alert when you exit. Have a safe trip and enjoy your self.
