We will be boarding the Fantasy in less than a week. This morning my husband asked me if they were milkshakes aboard? And if so, can you use the Disney Visa $50 OBC to pay for them (i.e. do they count as 'drinks')?

Thank you for any information you can give!

You can get smoothies on the pool deck and at CC, but not milkshakes. I don't remember if there were milkshakes available in the MDRs. The smoothies count as drinks for the Disney Visa OBC offer.

Just pointing out you need to bring your own root beer. It's not on the drink stations as a selection.

And it was the first drink we purchased after leaving the ship! Next time we'll bring a six pack. We don't drink it on a regular basis but really missed it for some reason.

As Homer Simpson would say, D'oh! I once knew that, but had convinced myself they had Barq's "on tap" at the drink stations. Thanks for correcting my mental lapse!

Thanks for the responses, everyone. That's a shame that there are no milkshakes, but I'll keep an eye out for the smoothies! I suspect my husband won't be so interested though. He would be more likely to just get a margarita rather than a smoothie!

Barq's is available at WDW at the drink stations in the resorts but not on the ship. If you don't bring any on the ship but have a root beer craving, they do have cans of Barq's available at the bars (with a fee of course).

My DH doesn't drink coffee but when we were on the Wonder, he would get a chocolate blended drink every day from Cove Café that came close to a milkshake (we were concierge on that trip so drinks from Cove Café were included). I'll ask him tonight what it had in it, but I think there was ice cream.

Poor guy is in trouble when we go to Alaska next year because he is going to have to pay for his favorite drink now ;)

You could make your own. If I remember correctly, you could pick up a carton of milk at the buffet, and go get soft serve in a cup to mix it with. :)

DS had a smoothie at dinner every night in the MDRs on our Fantasy cruise in April. I don't think there are any shakes available anywhere on the ship. :-(

My husband asked for a chocolate shake for our kids one day on the wonder. It was at the same bar that they do crafts at during the day (by the computer lab). It was blended ice with some sort of chocolate mix and was horrible! I do not recommend it!

Just remembered there is also hand dipped ice cream in Cabanas. You can get a couple of scoops and mix it with milk and while it won't be the consistency it will taste pretty milk shake like.

OK - I checked with Dh and it was a milkshake from Cove Café. It was not on the menu but the CM would make it for him anyway. I think it was basically the Mochaccino (1/3 espresso and chocolate blended with vanilla ice cream) without the expresso, LOL. So vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup and milk blended, then with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle on top.

My favorite afternoon pick me up/cool me down on the Fantasy a couple of weeks ago was the soft serve vanilla ice cream with a splash, or two, of coffee. I used the large tumbler from home. By the time I got back to my chair, it was the perfect consistency. Yum!
