Milk or formula?

Both of kids also did not like sippy cups. Try the take and toss cups with straws..they have minimal spilling

Since it appears you're going in the next month, I'd wait to change her to cow's milk and take her off the bottle till after you get home.

We started weaning my son from the bottle at about 10 months (giving forumal in a sippy instead) as I didn't want to have to drag bottles with us. At 12 months (oct 2008), we weaned him off formula and onto cow's milk (2% in fact and he's doing just fine still). By the time we went in Dec 2008 (he was nearly 15 months old) he was off formula and bottles.

If you had more time before your trip and she wasn't turning one while there, that's what I'd suggest. But for now, wait till you get home from the trip.

We leave in just a couple of days!!! Yea!!! DD is down to bottles at just mealtimes and bedtime. We're using her regular Dr Brown's bottles on the trip (we have a dishwasher at OKW.) I got some of the Enfamil singles to make the formula easier while on the go. DD will use a sippy a straw cup for water or juice. I have a straw type sippy from Munchkin that she likes alot. Plain straws don't work just yet. She just wants to pull out the straw and chew on it.

I guess I am lucky. The day each of my children turned 1, bottles were taken away and they were given milk in a sippy cup. Neither of them had any trouble. Maybe this was to help me out since, both of them would only drink ready to feed formula and not the powder.

Well we are going next month and will be there for DD#2's 1st birthday as well. DD only BFs. She has refused bottles since day one - not by OUR choice...LOL. I have been giving her for the past week about 1-2 ounces a day of whole milk and will slowly introduce more to her over the next 30 days. I will then BF in the room and will give water and milk in the parks. They sell milk boxes that are shelf stable. I will probably order some from garden grocer and bring them along then I can use the milk at the restaurants for meals. If your DD drinks formula I would definitely bring that along esp if they will drink the powdered formula. It is so much easier to mix in the parks and you don't have to worry about keeping it cold. My DD#1 wouldn't drink the powder when I supplemented so it was much more difficult - but if your DC will drink it I would bring it along (Can you use those individual powder packets?) this way you can leave it in your diaper bag and pull it out if the need arises.

As far as giving up bottles or using sippy cups. When we traveled with DD#1 she was 15 months I purposefully kept her on one bottle a day just so she would take it for take off and landings on the flight there and back but she drank a sippy the rest of the trip.

I have no idea what I will do with DD#2 this time b.c she flatly refuses to take a bottle. She will drink fine from a regular cup - but that isn't a great option for going out b.c I can only give a little at a time (after a few sips she turns it upside down to play). I'm working on getting her on straw cups for now and hope that will work in time.

Good luck and have a great trip!

Be sure to try the milk boxes before you go. DGS LOVES his milk and he will not drink those at all.
