Will be packing most groceries prior to trip, but wondered about milk for our toddler. Do they sell jugs of milk at the hotel? Gallon size? Are the fridges in the studios large enough to hold a gallon? Thanks! Shan :)

I think the largest size (that I saw anyway) was a half gallon container. We went through quite a few of those - my baby (15) is 6'2" and 208 pounds, and I think milk is how he got that way. ;)

The studio refridgerator is large enough to hold these. I believe a couple will even fit on the door.

Oh, where did you buy it? Inside BC or is there a store right at the villas? Shan :)

If I remember correctly (cut me some slack - I'm getting old ;) ), a half gallon cost about what I'd pay back home for a gallon.

You can purchase all of your food items, and get the free DVD rentals (do you call it a rental when it's free?) at the Atlantic Wear and Wardrobe Emporium, right off the BC lobby.

Thanks Dotti. Don't think we'll get the free DVD rentals since we are renting points, but sounds nice. So I take it then there is a DVD player in a studio? Nice. Shan :)

Ack! Sorry! I know that I knew you were in the studio because we were talking about the fridge, but I just blocked that out when I mentioned the DVD's. No DVD player in the studio.

Another milk question - does anyone know if you can by lactose free milk at Disney? If not does anyone know which Florida grocery store carries it? Soy milk wont help - has to be regular milk - lactose free. Any help would be appreciated!

I f you go the the DVC official site, they have the grocry list available as PDF files. If you are using dialup, give it a few minutes to load.

Just checked the list, all varieties, whole,1%, 1.2% and skim $2.95 for a half gallon.

Sorry, no lactose free on the list:(

Deb,

I think that Publix carries a large selection. My aunt went there last time to pick some kind of "milk" - she's allergic to soy, so it's not soy milk, but I forget what kind.

We went to the one on I-192. Exit on Hotel Plaza Blvd and turn right (instead of driving straight thru to Goodings) and drive ALL the way down, turn left into the Publix parking lot at the dead end.

If you need lactose free milk, you can buy Lactaid drops to add to regular milk, you wait ( I don't remember how long) and the drops will remove the lactose for you. The drops can be put on any food with a high lactose content. Pizza, mac and cheese, etc. I have two children who were lactose intolerant and those drops were lifesavers !

thanks for all your help. Ironically, I did use the drops until about 3 weeks ago (especially for travel)- but the one pharmacy that carries it near us no longer stocks it. They even checked to see if they could order it for me - no luck. And of course mine wont take the Lactose tablets/pills! Even walgreens around here doesn't carry the drops! Very frustrating - especially when they tell me the drops "were very popular" I also use to be able to buy lactose free chocolate milk but the manufacture no longer produces it and so far I have not been able to find anyone else nearby that does either. Ironically my son loves milk and last time at Disney the drops worked great - since I cant get the drops I thought I would go to the grocery store and get the milk instead. I'll try the publix. Thanks again.
