I'm so excited. DH and I have finally said when we will be going back to WDW. We are planning a trip for September 2012. Our son will be 6 1/2 by then. DS has sever/life threatening dairy and peanut allergies. DH also has a mild dairy allergy. I don't have allergies, but I do have to avoid cashews and MSG because I get a migraine from them sometimes. Last time we went to WDW DS was 3 1/2. We ate at Liberty Tree Tavern, Crystal Palace, Sci Fi, and Garden Grill. Our best experience was at LTT, so we are planning to go back there. Had good luck with getting safe food at the other three, but the foods were not as tasty as they could have been. Plus when we go back this time we will be there more than just 2 days. We are planning 7 days in the World! Woo Hoo! I know from last time to contact Special Diets when we get closer. Oh I am so looking forward to this! Can you all tell?

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information. Post #3 of the FAQ has a lot of topics; scroll down it to Dietary Restrictions and you will find toms of information and links.

Or, if you want an easier route to the FAQs, click on the link in my signature.

Be sure to contact WDW and fill out the form they have for people with special dietary needs. You explain what you can and cannot have as well as listing all your ADR's and your resort. That way they can inform the restaurants and food courts prior to your arrival and the chef can contact you if needed. I had no problem on my last stay because I did this prior to the trip.

We went through Special Diets last time and all of DS's food was safe. I cant say enough about how much Disney did, above and beyond, for my little man. I'm looking forward to trying new places this time. I already have a list started. I have over a year to plan, so I will be reading all of your food reviews from trips this year, making notes of which places were better than others, etc. Love having lots of time to plan for a trip!

Here is my dining report from last trip back in 2009.

We've had mixed results at some of the same places. Back in 2009, we had great luck with Rainforest Cafe and Tutto Italia. This time, it wasn't so easy, due to difference circumstances and menu changes.

We have a few different reviews for places, listed on our website, that detail our experience with a dairy allergy. And we have some peanut related tips, too, especially if peanut contact is an issue.

All-in-all, it sounds like you have the past experience to plan for a wonderful trip. We just returned and are already planning our next trip.
