Military tickets and PIN question

I have a question that I cannot seem to find the answer and I am hoping that someone can help! I am currently booked using the military discount for this August and planned on buying the discounted military salute tickets for $138 each. However this past week I received a free dining PIN for our trip dates! This PIN only requires me to purchase one day park passes. So my question is if I forfeit my military room discount and book the free dining offer with one day park passes can I apply the value of the park ticket towards the Armed Forces Salute ticket? I would really appreciate some input on this. I have ran the numbers and if this is allowable it will actually save us even more money.

I wish they'd let us combine discounts but they won't. It's either use the PIN and buy a 1-day pass plus Salute tickets for everyone in your group, or use the military rate for the room and buy Salute tickets.

Thank you! I called Disney and asked and the cast member I talked to was unsure if I could or not. She stated that she saw no reason why I couldn't, but that she thought there was a reason that I would be unable to use my one day ticket that was part of the package to purchase the military tickets.

You CAN apply your package ticket to the cost of the Military ticket, you just have to pay the difference.

Well I just got off the phone with Walt Disney World ticketing and I was told I would not be able to apply the cost of my one day ticket that is part of my package to the Armed Forces Salute ticket...... The cast member I spoke too stated that I could not because the Armed Forces Salute ticket is a specialty ticket. I was transferred three times before she provided me with an answer. The previous two cast members thought I could but wanted to check with someone else first.
