Military Ticket Questions

The ITT office on my husbands base wasn't able to help me answer this question so I'm looking for someone who had done this and if it's possible.

We booked our reservation yesterday for 2015 with a military discount. Disney said we could only book hotel and dining, we would have to do tickets separately since it's a military discount package. I know the four day park hopper is offered but that's not an ideal option for us, because we are going six days. Would we be able to buy a six day park hopper from base and apply that to our existing reservation? So it's included in our magic bands and what not, as well as fast pass+.

I hope that makes sense. ITT for our base didn't even know Disney renewed military discounts. -.-

Yes, as of today, you will be able to do that.

Could things change?!?! Of course! but I don't expect it to for this.

You will just need the "bar code" number on the back of the tickets (if your ITT gives those out) or the number from the eTicket and use that to link the tickets.

The Military Disney Tips Blog has lots of answer to FAQs such as yours. Basically, what it boils down to is: Disney offers discounted tickets for military, and the Armed Forces Salute Tickets (4 day hoppers, with options for adding the water parks).

From Military Disney Tips:

Disney World Armed Forces Salute Prices
•Four-Day Park Hopper Tickets for $177.00*
•Four-Day Water Park and More Tickets for $177.00*
•Four-Day Park Hopper Tickets plus the Water Park and More Option for $207.00

Then you have the regular Disney park tickets, offered at a slight discount to military members.
From Military Disney Tips: "These tickets are identical to the general public Disney Magic Your Way Tickets at Walt Disney World and Theme Park Admission Tickets at Disneyland but at a reduced military rate." They offer 1-10 day tickets, and come with or without options (park hopper, water parks, etc). You can also get these at your MWR/ITT office (supplies vary by site, so they may not have what you're looking for) or through Shades of Green, but NOT through Disney World ticket windows.

The prices for the discounted tickets for military are only comparable if you're only adding on one more day, any more than one day and you might as well just purchase more Armed Forces Salute tickets, since the prices pretty much evens out anyway (that way you get more bang for your buck, so to speak). Whatever unused days are left on your Armed Forces Salute tickets are stored on there until you can use them again or until 03 October 2015, whicever is sooner.

I actually just got an email back from Steve who runs that site. We WOULD be able to buy a six day park hopper on base and link it to our account to take advantage of magic bands and advance FP+ reservations.

The four day one doesn't work for us because for the second half we wouldn't be able to take advantage of advanced FP+ reservations.
