military ticket discounts

Hi,

I'm doing some research for a friend of mine. She plans on visiting Disneyland around Memorial day. She was wondering if there were any ticket discount for military. She was in the military and her friend she will be visiting is currently in the military. I found info for disneyworld but not disneyland. If anybody can give me any information, it would be greatly appreciated.

While WDW is doing another promotion this year, DL is still iffy. Friends of mine have called and the CM's have only said that they have no information at this time, and won't even acknowledge whether or not they will have a program at all.

In the meantime, the best bet is to go to the MWR at their local military base and buy tickets. The discount depends on where you live. I thought prices were the same across the board, but I have since learned that while the MWR here in San Diego only saves me $0.50 to $5.00, bases in other states offer much better discounts. They can call the MWR ahead of time and find out just how much the tickets will be. Right now, the promotion that DL is offering through April is cheaper than any military ticket I've seen, so it's not always the best option, but for a Memorial Day trip, it might be.

I spoke with WDW ticketing about this tonight, and they said that the Armed Forces salute 2010 IS valid at DL as well. Same number of days/price as the WDW offer.

This is incorrect.

I tried to get through to DL, but their ticketing office was closed. I'll see if I can get a hold of them tomorrow and see what they have to say.

UPDATE: I spoke with DL ticketing today, and the offer is NOT valid at DL.

As I updated in my post above, the 2010 Armed Forces salute is NOT valid at DL as I was told last night.

I will still hold out hope! I know last year DL reps kept denying there was any military promotion until around the 3rd week of January, and suddenly the story changed. Fingers crossed for this year!
