Military ticket activation

I am in no way convinced they are active. As far as I know SoG is the only source for activated tickets for military, which means it can be done. I have however, spoken with at least two different families locally who did not go to guest services and were able to enter at the gate Using the same tickets we have been issued at our local ITT office. I simply asked because the information I received is conflicting. I was hoping to avoid guest services at Epcot the morning we arrive, but if I can’t, no big deal. A couple posters going in the next couple weeks have said they would report back what they find out.

Don't know if this makes any difference, but I have a set of tickets from Shades of Green and a second set purchased from our local ITT office loaded into my account right now. The ones from the local ITT were the hard cards this time as well.

The set from Shades of Green shows a Date Range: Valid 05/05/2021 - 12/17/2021 (5/5 is the date SOG shipped our tickets, and assuming activated them)

The set from the local ITT only says Valid through 12/17/2021

Edited to add: Would be great if we don't have to stand in line to activate the ITT tickets though, so looking forward to hearing others experience with them

Silly question, but since you need to Reserve a Park wouldn't the tickets need to be activated in order to make the reservation?

After relooking at the paperwork and tickets. They literally say conflicting things.

The confirmation from Disney says,

"Thank you. Your tickets are activated. Simply show your tickets at a Walt Disney World park turnstile and enjoy your visit!"

The back of the plastic card says,

"... This exchange certificate is not a ticket and is not valid for admission after purchase. Please redeem this exchange certificate at any Walt Disney World ticket window or Disney Springs guest relations."

I'm going to go to guest services. Its not worth gambling. But we are not going to the parks on our arrival day. I don't trust what any CM says on the phone in this scenario.

I bought our tickets (hard plastic cards) from our local ITT. I received the same email from Disney saying our tickets were activated and we could proceed through the turnstiles. After reading this thread, we went to guest services in Disney Springs yesterday and they were NOT actual tickets. We did have to show military identification and exchange for actual tickets. I had not even bothered to read the back of the card until I saw this thread. Trust the back of the card. If it says exchange, then prepare to do that before going to the turnstiles.

We just used them earlier this year and they DID have to be activated. They were the plastic cards and had the letter indicating they didn't need to be activated. I was able to add them to MDE and schedule park reservations. When we got to the park entrance, the woman would not even let us try our Magic bands. She saw my husband's USAF hat and made us get out of line. She insisted they had to be activated; I insisted they didn't...she won.
