Hi, I'm a former lurker. I've been reading here everyday for a few weeks and today is the first time I've had a question that you all haven't already covered in depth (that I can tell). I apologize if this has been covered recently...

My Dad is a Department of Defense employee on a military base, and one of the base travel agents told him he can get the military salute tickets at ITT and just show his DOD ID at the gate to activate them. Another told him he probably won't need his ID at all as long as he buys them on base.

I am concerned that a DOD ID won't be enough, since he isn't active duty military. So the price is nice, but it won't help us if we get to the gate and they won't let us in. Does anyone know exactly how these tickets work?

I searched an old thread but I'm not sure if the info in it is accurate for this year.

Thanks!

I am also a DoD GS, here in Colorado and at MWR, they told me that I was not eligible for those tickets, just the regular discounted hoppers.

Now I have heard of some people in our community having success with the salute, but from what I have heard it is pretty random, some have been asked for ID and some have not.

The regular discounted hopper is still great, $174 for a 5 day and requires no ID.

If you go to Post #17 of the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in the TPA&S forum (click on the link in my signature to get there directly) you will see the WDW rules. The eligibility requirements are the same for both DLR and WDW. I work tickets and Guest Relations at WDW and keep the sticky current.
