ok, so we JUST went to WDW for a week in Feb! The salute tickets were new and we used the free one and 1x $99 companion. Was that it for us for '09?!?!
Meaning.... the 'up to 5' companion tickets is gone now? We cant get the additional 4 available companion tickets this year?! We were supposed to buy them all at once?! Our little family wants to go back this year and those $99 tickets would really help make that happen!!

does anyone know the deal with the unused companion tix?

hoping for good news...

Unfortunately, I don't know an exact answer for you. However, I have found that the people in the ticket office at Shades of Green are very knowledgeable and helpful!

Sorry, you won't be able to buy more. This is from Mousesavers:

"Disney's Armed Forces Salute Companion" tickets are limited to five per service member (regardless of place of purchase and whether purchased by service member or spouse) and all five must be purchased at the same time."

Here is the link: http://www.mousesavers.com/wdwtixdiscounts.html#military

I've purchased these tickets as well for our upcoming October trip. We got the free ticket (DH) and four $99 tickets (with PH and WP). As we were walking out I, I wished I would have bought one more (limit is five $99 tickets). Now I have to buy tickets for my inlaws at the regular price. From what I heard, you have to buy them all at once. Maybe you can try to talk to the people at your ITR office or Shade of Green? Good luck with it all. I hope you can still get some more tickets.

That is it! no more. My co worker just returned this week and took advantage of this promotion. He got his one free ticket and bought 2 tickets for his adult kids. Later that day, his other son called and said he and his GF think they will drive down later in the week and could he go and buy them tickets too. He drove to DTD with unused tickets and receipt and asked if he could buy 2 more tickets for his last minute kids who have now decided to join them and they told him "sorry" it's a one time deal. So his other kids didn't come after knowing they couldn't get tickets.

It's good to have someone's personal experience with this--the moral is, buy them all at once! Anyone else have experience using the tickets at two different times?

At least in the experiences mentioned thus far, some discounted tickets were able to be purchased, just not all that the purchaser would have liked after they had already purchased some. Each discounted $120 PH ticket is a savings of $185 off the normal ITR price:thumbsup2. Disney doesn't have to offer this at all, but they are (and, 40% off room-only;)) so they must have some rules attached to the discount.

The program might not be perfect, but the rules were clearly written and available online on Disney's website, AllEars, MouseSavers, etc... I'm appreciative for the opportunity to be able to take advantage of this deal at all. We might not see the likes of it again for a very long time.

You know I personally am not buying the tickets but if you search these boards I remember reading where someone went to SOG and they let them buy the extra tickets they didn't purchase, up to 5. I know what the rules say but I remember them posting that. I was checking because my BIL and sis are planning on going and we were thinking about being the "companions".

The rules are in fact that the transaction has to take place all at once.

I'm moving this to the ThemeParks Board and I encourage you to read the sticky located there (and linked in my signature) "EVERYTHING ABOUT TICKETS" .. which explains the military promotion in great detail.

We got our free ticket and purchased 3 companion tickets back in Jan when this first came out. A month or so ago I called up the ITT and ordered 1 more as my mom is now coming with us. They sold it to me no problem. Even told them no already had it when they asked if I needed the member free ticket as well. So depending on the ITT you purchase from they may or may not enforce the "one time" rule.

However, we will not be activating our ticket until next month. I doubt I would have been able to add on if our tickets were activated already.

regards
