military salute tickets, cheaper on base?

My husband went to the base ticket office to order the military salute tickets for our February 2020 trip. They are not in stock at his base and have to be ordered. The Disney website says a 6 day park hopper for 2020 is $301. The base ticket office only charged him $287 no tax (per ticket.) I told him there must be some mistake and asked him to go back to the ticket office. The person working there showed him the order form where it even says that a 2020 6 day park hopper is only $287.

Is this correct? We've done the military salute almost every year and I don't remember it being different prices--except the tax.

We didn't even bother to try to buy our tickets on base due to our trip being in January (and we want all the tickets activated). I can tell you, though, at Shades of Green, the 6 Day Hopper is $301 (and as a base ticket office, they didn't charge us tax)

Bases can charge less. Disney charges tax if you buy from them directly.

Thanks! I was just worried that the wrong thing was ordered and I'd get to my FP+ reservation day and not be able to make the reservations!

Yes, bases can evidently charge less. It's a much better deal for DH to buy them at work!

We did Shades of Green for our January trip this year. You have to pay $12 for fed ex but you get the actual linked tickets vs the voucher at the base so you don’t have to stop at customer service when you first arrive. SOG was easy and quick.

Our son and his wife purchased their tickets at their base. It was easy to link the ticket numbers to the MDE account. They did have to stop at Guest Services to activate the tickets once they were at the park, but it only took a couple of minutes.
