Military Salute ticket question

I and my husband are both retired military. Originally 8 of us were going. I bought 6 tickets under my name, an 2 tickets under my husbands name. Now only 5 of us are able to go. So that leaves 3 of our tickets to go to waste.

After reading so much here, again I find myself confused. Is it possible then for us to get 2 more tickets and the 5 of us that are going beable to have 8 days verses 4 days? 2 sets of tickets each?

I could purchase using my military spouse status?

We went with my son (active duty) and his fiancée, who were not able to stay a whole week due to military/school commitments, so he purchased 4 of the military salute tickets. I didn't need one since I had an AP, so he and his fiancée each used one and my DH used two so that he could stay the whole week with me. So Yes, unless something has changed in the last 2 years, you can use two tickets per person to allow for 8 days instead of 4. Whose name to buy them in is more complicated, since you have bought all you are allowed under your own eligibility, but he has remaining eligibility for 4 more tickets. Spose eligibility allows you to use his eligibility in his place, but I don't know if it would cause to much confusion given your own (used) eligibility. I would just have dh purchase them with his remaining eligibility if possible.

Your husband would have to buy the remaining tickets since you already bought 6. It's 6 each regardless if your spouse is AD/retired etc. And I believe if you are a spouse, you're using your AD person's 'quota' so to speak, so only 6 period. The only way you can get more than 6 is if both of you are using the entitlement in your own right as a Military member.
My husband and I are both AD, we could theoretically both purchase 5 tickets for our family and turn the trip into an 8 day vaca as opposed to 4. Or.. Go 2x/yr using one of our allotments each time.

If you are both retired (as in both of you actually served with the proper ID/paperwork that shows you're eligible for purchasing salute tickets), you can each buy six tickets, so a total of 12. If he served and you are "just" the spouse (and I mean that in the nicest way possible, I just can't think of a better way to say it right now, sorry lol), you can only purchase six tickets total. You should visit the Military Disney Tips website for more info on eligibility. A spouse can purchase tickets in place of a service member, but a spouse doesn't get an additional six tickets of his/her own. Hope that makes sense! :-)

LOL I took it in the nicest way. Yes we are both retired. I bought 6 under my name, and since we needed 8, we bought 2 under his name. Now however, only 5 of the 8 can go. I have 3 tickets that can't be used (I hate to waste the money). So when I read that some were getting 2 tickets for one person, I started to think that I could do that also. But we would need to buy 2 more tickets. Just wasn't sure if I could buy the other 2 under spouse entitlement.
I am entitled to 6 and my hubby is for 6. Not trying to get more than that.

Yes you can each use 2 tickets back-to-back and yes, your spouse can buy 2 more tickets to make that work. I'm not sure how FP+ will work for that, though. I know the first four days are okay, but I'm not sure how you would link the second set of tickets to each person and MDE to be able to do it.

Just thought of another issue. The already bought tickets have all been linked in my MDE and attached to each of the 8 people. So what should I do to correct this now? Do I delete the members that are not going? Not sure how this works. I have never had members not beable to go.

I have no idea how to help with this one. If you don't get an answer here, you might want to create a new thread with this question. The people who do know how may not come look at a thread on military tickets.

Under either tickets or family and friends you should be able to reassign the tickets to new people. You can absolutely have more than one valid ticket linked to each person so you should then be able to make 8 days of fp+ reservations for each of you

I know I read into things too much sometimes. But, the system does not have a problem with me making 60 day fp's for Mk on day 1, and then AK for day 1 also if using both tickets? Or Do I have to use one set first 4 days and then the second set the next 4 days? Right now I have it set up to skip a day or two from the theme parks and go to a water park. I have the water park pass rather than the hoppers.
So if I have two sets of tickets and I don't have to use them in a row, I was wondering about the MDE reading them and not letting me make those fp's. I know I am so confused about all this.

As long as you have valid ticket media you can make fp+ for any day you like. The system sees 8 days of valid tickets not day 1-4 and day 1-4 you can make whatever fp you choose.

I'm at WDW and in my phone so going to make this short.

Yes you can do what you want and you will be able to make FPs for all 8 days at 60 days out if you are staying on property. We just did this and my DD & SIL are using 2 4-day tickets so a total of 8 days.

That is another thing I was thinking about, who could I get to use these extra's but now that I know I can use 2 tickets per person, well that is another story. So glad I came on here and started reading. Even though I am more confused about things but I got lots of good info.
