Military Salute/Annual Pass

My husband, myself and our adult son will be visiting WDW in January. My husband and I are annual pass holders. Will my husband be able to purchase military salute tickets for just my son? Fine print says that one of the salute tickets must be used by military member.

I believe that the caveat is that the military member must be present to activate it, not that they must be using a Salute ticket too. I think it's just assumed that they would be.

I THINK you'll be okay. If I remember correctly, the fine print's intent is that one of the 6 tickets purchased must be used by the military member or their spouse. If you're only buying one ticket, that shouldn't figure into it. To be completely sure, my advice is to buy the Salute ticket at the WDW ticket counter. That means you'll have to pay tax, but that's better than buying a ticket that can't be used.

@ravenclawtrekkie would know the answer. Can an military salute ticket be purchased for their son to use when the military guest is an annual passholder?

We have annual passes and we were able to buy salute tickets for family last year.

I'd do it and I think most other ticketing CMs would. Now that we don't put demographics for Salute tickets anymore, we don't really care much who's actually using them as long as a military member with a qualified ID buys/activates them.

You'll be fine. The rule is just one of the allotted 6 tickets must me used by EITHER the military member or spouse. So you can't purchase 6 for friends, but could purchase 5 for friends.

As said before what they mean is you can activate 5 salute tickets for family or friends as long as person with the military ID is present but the 6th ticket needs to be either for the military person or spouse. Since you both have AP that means you could only activate 5 salute tickets this year.
