Military DVC Members

Was wondering if there are any Military members who are also DVC members? I've yet to come across any where I'm stationed (Fort Bragg).

My wife and I are a married Army couple who are also DVC members.
And…we’re both stationed at Bragg (XVIII ABC & USASOC). :thumbsup2

Retired Army. Joined DVC in 92. Our son works at Joint Base Lewis Mccord in the med clinic after 10 years army

My hubby is active Army. We bought SSR in 2006 when we were stationed in TX. We are now at Mac Dill, AFB in Tampa. Hubby has 21 yrs in.

Our son will be doing his AIT at Huachuca.

We have stayed at SOG once, for a recruiting conference a couple of years ago. It was nice, we were in the newer section, I heard a few complaints from those who stayed in the older section.
Rooms were certainly big and everything was comfortable.
The pools are older and don't have slides, but they are really deep! My kids loved being able to jump in to the deep end.
We thought the food offerings were terrible there though.

All said, we much prefer having a kitchen with DVC.

We stayed at SOG on our honeymoon and it was ok. No real complaints but we wanted a more disneyish atmosphere. Honestly our stay there was 1200 or so for ten nights and our stay at pofq ten months after that for another 1200 was what made us decide to join DVC.

I'm in XVIII ABC!

We are looking to purchase in the next 2 years. My hubby is active air force. Any advice? We have 2 boys right now (3 and 1) and have goneatleast once a year to wdw and now since we are stationed in SoCal we have APs to DL and go at least once a month for an overnight. I assume some of you weighed in military discounts when making your decision ... Any insight?

My husband is retired Air Force and I am still Active Duty Air Force currently stationed in Alaska. We just purchased this October after many years of going back and forth between what was better military discounts, etc. We have stayed at SOG and Disney property. Love the cabins. But DVC is a great option with two boys (9 and 7) this gives us great flexibility for planning vacations anywhere we may be stationed.

My DH is Active Army. We have a 3 and 1 year old also and we just joined DVC this past summer. We had been talking about it for 4 years and finally decided to go through with it! We usually stay at VWL and use the 40% off discount but the last time I tried to book a trip I could not even get a room where/when we wanted with the discount applied. There was barely anything left. I don't know how much longer they will keep offering the mil discount on the rooms but we were going at least 1x a year so it made sense for us to join. That discount is probably what held us back from doing it for so long though, it was great!

DH and I are DVC members! He is active duty Air Force and we are stationed at JBER in Anchorage, Alaska. We are SO happy we purchased DVC, and are already saving for more points. Since becoming members in June 2012 (BLT), we went to WDW and stayed at SSR in October 2012, and are going to DL and Aulani in September 2013. It was a great opportunity for us, since we have been going to Disney every year since we started dating! (almost 10 years!)

For us, it was having enough to make a good down payment. We ended up putting more than half of the payment down, and paying off the rest in under 8 months.

We are:) We live about 45 minutes from Bragg and DH is retired Army. We've been DVC members for 5 years and love it!

My husband did 4 years in the Navy, 11 years USCG and 7 years USCG active reserve. He's retired from military service and has been working in the private sector.

DH is retired Air Force. We've been DVC members since 2008. Many thanks to all the active duty and retired military members for their service to our great country and the American people! :cheer2:
