Hi all,

I was just browsing through the FAQ section and saw something about a discount at the Fort if you were eligible to stay at SOG. Is this true? Does the Fort offer some kind of military discount? I'm going to call tomorrow to find out, but of course I can't wait until tomorrow to know, so I thought I would bring it up to the "experts".:)

Hey there, you have to call SoG at (888) 593-2242 to see if they have any campsites at the discount available, you're booking through them to get the military discount. I just added their number to that FAQ post.

Great! Thanks, I am going to call right now.:cheer2:

I called CRO yesterday to ask about this, and the CM told me that they *did* have to be booked through SOG, and that the campground was only available through SOG as an overflow booking, ONLY IF SOG WAS FULLY BOOKED. *sigh*

And, I asked if I could book the DDP with that reservation, and was told "no". Please let us know if SOG provides you with different info...... :guilty:

Great information for next 4th of July- i can't imagine SOG not being totally booked for that time of year.

I just tried to book overflow at SOG for early January and was told they couldn't book overflow until October. If that's true for July, that means you couldn't book overflow until April. My guess is that all campsites will be booked long before that.

EDIT: BTW, SOG is booked solid for that weekend because of the marathon.

If I was Disney mgmt, I would make a point of drastically discounting resort/park prices for active duty military w/o exception. Especially so, if they are returning from/or deploying to combat areas. I would make sure this applies to their dependents also.

I hope this is the case.

In case noone has said it lately, my heartfelt thanks for you and your family's service to our country. We greatly appreciate it (although it may not seem that way if you pay any attention to the US media). I try to ignore them myself.

I feel the discount should extend even farther - to Reserve and National Guard. In light of the way the reserve and guard are currently utilized, they deserve some recognition. Long deployments take a more severe toll on families and civilian jobs of the citizen soldier, who often lack the support structure offered to the active duty personnel.

There is a military discount being offered currently. Here's the details:

Code FFR
It's 40% off room only for retired and active military with valid ID's.
It runs 10/21-12/15 with
Black out dates November 4-10, 2007 and November 18 - December 8, 2007

I'm not sure about the availability at the Fort -- just passing along the information! :goodvibes

Thanks Rhonda. Could you let me know when the code for January 2008 come out? Thanks a bunch.
