My brother-in-law is a Navy fighter pilot. He and my sister are flying down to meet us in Disney Friday night. How would he go about getting the military discount? Should he call Disney directly? He will not have a car at his disposal down there. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

I can hardly wait for Disney ... I just need to make it through Thursday! :cool1:

You can go over to the Shades of Green and get your tickets or he can purchase them at an MWR facility on whatever base he is stationed.

How does he get to Shades of Green? No car available and he is flying in late at night. Do they sell tickets 24 Hours?

Well...no Shades is not open 24 hours. He'd have to get the tickets on Saturday morning. He could take the monorail to the Polynesian and then walk over to Shades of Green from there (about a 10 minute walk).

Sounds like his best bet is to buy the tickets before he leaves his base at the MWR facility. I am not aware if Disney gives military discounts at the gate. You could check their website and it would tell you. But the best deals are the tickets purchased through the MWR facilities.

Well, if he is going on Friday, he will probably have to buy them at Shades, unless you call him at work and tell him to go to ITT (or whatever it is called in the Navy-we have Tickets and Tours) right now and order them. They only take a couple of days, but do have to come via mail to the Ticket office on Base and then he can pick them up.

call Shades and get their price for the number of days you'll be there and compare to the MWR prices. For longer visits it's usually cheaper to get the Stars and Stripes passes then to buy the hopper passes from MWR. Haven't priced for shorter visits, you might do better with MWR for that.

Yep, the SoG Length of Stay passes have always been cheaper for me than the regular passes. Although, I always have a devil of a time figuring out how they work.
