As I'm writing, there's no certainty about 2014 military Disney discounts as yet. Currently, for Active Duty military and military retirees, plus a few qualified other categories, there is 40% off Deluxe, 35% off moderate and 30% off Value rooms. You can get a room with military discount and dining, and it's called a Military Dine package. It doesn't require tickets, as alternate tickets are available for military folks.
I did the Military Dine package a few months back. Basically you add together the nightly room rate and the daily dining plan rate for the plan you want -- Deluxe, Regular, or Quick Service. Current pricing info can be found here, and there will be a new 2014 Sticky when that info is announced:

As for tickets. Again, nothing yet is announced about continuation of the Armed Forces Salute 4-day Tickets after Sept. 28, 2013. You should understand that you are allowed 6 tickets total per offer period, and you can purchase 2 tickets per person and use them consecutively for a total of 8 days at the parks. You could purchase them ahead thru your military post, or at Shades of Green at WDW, both tax-free. WDW also sells these tickets, but 6.5% tax will be charged. Disney only sells these at the ticket booths and Guest Services facilities at the parks, TTC and DTD. Can't be purchased at your resort.
Since you can use two 4-day AFS tickets per person, the cost is better than buying a Disney MYW Ticket. The current AFS ticket includes Park Hopper
OR WPF&M, for $156. You can get PH
& WPF&M both for $184. Total cost for one person for 2 AFS tickets (8 days in the parks) =
$312 w/PH
OR WPF&M, or
$368 w/both PH
& WPF&M.
The Disney 8-day base ticket is $319. Add PH for $59,
or WPF&M for $59, or add a combo PH
& WPF&M for $84. Total Disney ticket is $319 Base + $59 PH (or WPF&M) = $378 + 6.5% tax =
$402.57. Total Disney ticket including PH
& WPF&M =
$429.20.
So you see, there's savings by using the AFS tickets. For more info on the AFS tickets, and Disney ticket pricing (posted pre-tax), here's Cheshire Figment's Ticket Sticky. CF is a Disney ticketing agent. What he posts is official Disney info. What he says about using 2 AFS tickets back-to-back is Gospel from Disney. Posts 17 and 18 on page 2 cover these topics. And again, as quickly as new AFS info is announced and/or new Disney ticket prices are announced, CF will update his site.
